This review is from: Elenco 9438 Breadboard With JW-140 Jumper Wire Set (Toy)
This breadboard does its job just fine. The people who claim the banana jacks are flimsy apparently have never learned how to use a crescent wrench. If you tighten them down with a crescent wrench, they're perfectly sturdy. I was happy to see that they really are good quality. I expected people who would buy this product to be able to figure out that they need to tighten the nuts with a wrench, but apparently I was wrong. As a result, I'm more happy with this product than expected. The only improvement I can think of would be for them to have a lug specifically to connect a ground wire to the backplane. That said, you can use an alligator clip to do that when you need to.
This board also can be expanded with the individual non-mounted breadboards of the same length, also sold by Amazon. I have an additional one attached (the edges of the boards allow you to lock them together). I may add another one later to make for a nice, very large proto surface. Good product, reasonable price. Recommended.

Ordered this for a college digital design class. Held up to a semesters worth of use and commuting back and forth from school. Will use it again when needed for school labs or for personal projects at home.
Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the banana jacks do seem cheap, but they have lasted so far and really if you're looking at a bread board I think replacing banana jacks shouldn't be too hard for you to do.

Marginal banana/power sockets,

The protoboards and aluminum substrate seem of good quality, but the four banana/power terminals supplied are cheap junk. They're probably fine if you don't remove them more than once or twice, but any more than that and they might fail. Comes with a wiring kit which might save some time stripping wires I guess. Also four rubber feet included.
Price was too high. Exact same item is available new from surplus electronics houses on-line for about half this price. My Prime subscription made the price with free 2-day shipping just close enough to make it worthwhile, although still a little over the surplus store.
