The Snap Circuits toys are wonderful. My son (just turned 6 last week) received the Snap Circuits Pro for Christmas. We liked it so much that he received the Snap Circuits Green kit for his birthday last week. He has enjoyed building snap circuits into actual items. The instructions are easy to follow. I like that the toy is educational, fun, and durable. I would highly recommend it!

I got this yesterday. For 8 and up. It is the greatest toy I ever had! It's like LEGO, a new toy every day. The only thing is that you have to charge the batteries for several hours before you can start building. It is very easy to put together. The battery charger uses solar so we put in in the sun. I LOVE IT! Get it for your kid. Buy today, don't delay!

Our 5-yr old loves building the projects with me. This is fun for him and very educational. If he has his choice of what he wants to play with out of all his toys, it would be this. Highly recommend!!!

Last year for Christmas, we bought the Snap Circuits Jr. SC-100 set for our then six-year-old son. The worked through the first half of the experiments on Christmas day! Obviously I didn't have time to explain to him how they all worked, but the point is the instructions are easy to follow and produce entertaining results.
This year, we knew another snap circuits set would be similarly well received. This Green - Alternative Energy Kit looked like a great option that didn't repeat too much of what he already had. He loved it again and is eagerly looking forward to designing his own circuits that can combine parts from both sets.

The product is very well packaged--the box it comes in organizes all parts neatly and securely without too much wasted space. The parts are all clearly labeled and easy to snap into place. It includes an FM radio, voltmeter, and a fan/windmill, which are all favorites. The biggest complaint I have is that the hand crank requires enough force to turn it quickly that it is easy to pop that part off of the circuit board. Keeping one hand firmly over the part while using the other hand to do the cranking usually keeps everything secure. Also, the photovoltaic cell doesn't generate enough current except during a very sunny day (which is typical for a cell this size). That said, I would say this set is even more enjoyable than the first set and I would certainly buy it again.

When I asked my son just now what he thought of the set and whether he'd recommend it to others, he said: "It is awesome!"

Warning though....if you leave lemon juice in the water chamber over night.....
the zinc electrodes get eaten and disappear! I had to order new ones.

Seriously, I have a 5 year old, so many toys have been purchased in his lifetime, and this is the best one. Not only is it extremely educational, but it keeps his attention, he can do it on his own, the parts are very easy to snap together and the instructions are simple enough for him to follow to make the projects. He picked up on the fact that you can make your own projects too, and learned that if you connect certain items your battery will drain faster, so he uses mostly the solar option with battery backup. We will be purchasing every kit this company puts out for birthdays and Christmas for years to come. I love that they have Junior options and then go up to the bigger kids with more intricate pieces and bigger projects. Just an amazing toy for all ages.

We bought this thinking we were going to use it for a Cub Scout den meeting, so when it arrived we took it out and my 7-year-old and husband went to playing. It is amazing, and it consumed them for hours. My son loves it, and was able to play with it on his own; he was not even reading the directions but was able to put together working projects. Snap circuits is extremely user-friendly. I have not had any issues with any of the pieces. I do wish we had ordered another set so that he could do more, but that is just my goofiness because there are a lot of projects that can be made from this set alone. I will be buying more in the near future.

I don't usually write very much review, but I really liked this toy. I have to say this is even more educational than the battery operated ones because the kid can actually see or experience where the energy source come from (sun, wind or him cranking up the hand crank) instead of this black box (the battery unit). I ordered this toy for my 5 year old son. Not only does he learn how energy can change its form from one state to another, he is learning what is a circuit and what does it take to make it work. He is also creating his own circuit now. And I am learning along with him. The pieces are good quality. I am buying a second set for his cousins because it is such an educational yet creative toy.

We got this for our 6 year old son and he has not stopped playing and creating.
We have had alot of people stop over and they sit down and play also, and write
down the name before they leave. If I factor in price, durability, looks, intrest,
etc, this is the best toy I have ever purchased. Keep creating !

This was our 3rd Snap Circuit purchase for our now 8 year old son. I was expecting this set to be a good purchase, but not as good as our prior purchases of the 300 and 750 Snap Circuit sets. I was wrong. I was surprised with the level of excitement as the parts were examined and assembled. Having a faucet or a fan turn a wheel that turns on a light of varying intensity levels or plays a radio is apparently pretty exciting stuff. I also think the parts on this set, like the radio with the volume control and earphones, are more attractively designed and that might be part of the excitement as well. His younger brothers can't wait for their own set.
