I saw this movie in the theater with my family. I was quite speechless at the end. It is the story of how wild animals go unregulated on many States. When they get loose it is up to authorities to chase them down and catch them. Tim Harrison is great in the film and gives us a peek at his world. Sometimes scary, sometimes heartbreaking, but never boring.Michael Webber has done a fine job of giving us both sides of the story. We see it from Tim's side and from the side of a man who owns wild animals. A must see!

The Elephant in the Living Room Review,
This review is from: Elephant in the Living Room (DVD)
By watching the trailer alone, it was easy to get lost in the story of this compelling movie. I would definitely recommend watching this before going out and buying pets which you cannot or should not care for, exotic or not. A definite eye opening experience and very emotional, a great film indeed 10/10 5 starsElephant in the Living Room

I first saw this film at a viewing in Washington, D.C. at a conference before it was released to the public. It is such an inspiring film that really looks deep into the world of exotic animal trade. It gives an insight as to the size of the market. Exotic animal trading is a very cruel fact that we must all face. These animals do not belong in our backyard for our pleasure. I hope that everyone that watches this film takes a second look before purchasing "exotic" animals from pet stores or the black market.

Great Documentary,

An amazing documentary about owner's of wild animals and one man's mission to inform people about the dangers of such ownership. The animals are the subject of the controversy but the real gem in this documentary is the pet owners themselves. I began the documentary thinking it would be crazy to own a lion but when you hear these people's stories you begin to understand why they have such animals as pets. The danger and easy access of these exotic animals is also very interesting. Definitely a doc that exposes the viewers to a world I personally did not know exsisted.

This is an outstanding story. Tim Harrison is an animal rescuer who is regularly faced with the consequences of the irresponsible and/or uninformed actions of humans. I was shocked to see the things that are actually legal in this country, much to the detriment of beautiful animals (and even snakes!). But it also tells the story of a man who owns two lions. While you watch in horror at what the lions must endure, the love that Terry has for these animals is also palpable. The recent tragedy in Zanesville, Ohio makes this an even more urgent issue. The safety and survival of animals and humans is dependent on our awareness and willingness to take action, and if The Elephant in the Living Room doesn't motivate you, I don't know that anything will. Tim is one of my heroes, and the compassion that he feels for the animals, as well as the humans involved, makes this a story that I think everyone should see!

You hear things that go on about wild animals being kept as house pets but never did I imagine the extent of it before watching this film. So many emotions felt! An absolute amazing documentary that everyone should watch. Gives both side of the story and so many unbelievable events and facts. I recommend this film to everyone I talk to. A MUST SEE!!!!

Why cage tigers when dogs aren't caged anymore??,
This review is from: Elephant in the Living Room (DVD)
One of the best film i have seen in a long time. Run time of 96 mins flew like 96 seconds. After reading the recent tragedy in Ohio and so much cries over the internet and news, this definitely helped me get to know the ground reality. Feels sad for the police officers who shot those endangered species, which would have haunted them for a long time. A MUST WATCH for everyone. You like animals, you do not like animals, you are a vegetarian, you are a democrat... Doesn't matter!!! GO watch it. Arise the human in YOU.

I won the "What movie are we gonna rent?" game at a friend's house one night and we rented this movie On Demand. For the entire movie, we sat in awe, with the occasional tear rolling down our cheeks. Tim Harrison is an amazing man, who cares about animals and works hard for them everyday. Buy this DVD and learn.

Quite an eye opener! This was one of the best documentaries that I have seen in a long time. It's not always pretty, but it is truthful.
