4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty awesome sound
Lush Progress has a pretty eclectic sound, very reminiscent of Radiohead's older works and Snow Patrol's newer sound. I highly recommend this album to anyone looking for a new sound without venturing into the extremely strange. Eclectic, new, atmospheric and still a good simple sound.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not your everyday record
Elevator Dream is not the kind of album I would listen to very frequently, but when in the right mood, it's perfect. The whole album is very chill all the way through. For me, it's good music on a rainy night or when cleaning your room, or when you're feeling introspective. 5.0 out of 5 stars Quite Talented, May 25, 2009
This review is from: Elevator Dream (MP3 Download)
This group of guys is very talented. Lushprogress has put together a unique sound. Their music could be used for tv shows or movie song themes. Some of the music reminds me of the background tunes that are used in Grey's Anatomy. Great album!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not your everyday record, August 15, 2008
This review is from: Elevator Dream (MP3 Download)
Elevator Dream is not the kind of album I would listen to very frequently, but when in the right mood, it's perfect. The whole album is very chill all the way through. For me, it's good music on a rainy night or when cleaning your room, or when you're feeling introspective. A comparison to Zero-7 is appropriate, or as others have stated, Radiohead when they were just starting to get "weird." "Pop Song" is, as the name implies, the pop song on the record. I heard that song first on the band's myspace page and loved it, but it's not an accurate reflection of the rest of the record. The album clocks in at over 54 minutes, which is a plus, as it seems all albums these days are doomed to wallow in the sub-40 minute range. All in all, this is an album I will listen to infrequently but will thoroughly enjoy when I do put it on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining Indie Album From Start Until Finish, July 31, 2008
This review is from: Elevator Dream (MP3 Download)
Lush Progress's Elevator Dream is an enjoyable listen that will keep you entertained while not breaking any new ground. From start to finish, Lush Progress covers a wide variety of styles; songs like "All In Good Time" mesmerize with strings and space-esque sound effects while others like "Pop Song" make you want to dance along with the bouncy brass and guitars. Although some songs do their respective styles respect, others seem like they were simply thrown together with no thought. In fact, the album breaks down significantly as the album progresses, with the last two tracks feeling drawn out and unnecessary. Still, the same can be expected from most albums. Overall, Elevator Dream provides 11 hit-or-miss tracks that, in the end, will leave you smiling.

3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, July 22, 2008
By
Lumpielump "Umpielump" (Fairfax, Virginia United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Elevator Dream (MP3 Download)
Overall, this is a fairly interesting album. It's hard to describe the entire work without of course mentioning some other band. Others have compared it to early Radiohead or Snow Patrol. There are certainly some elements borrowed from other elements. The horns of Architecture in Helsinki, the piano work of Mum, the occasional build up and crescendo of the Arcade Fire. Unfortunately, in referencing so many others, the theme and individuality of this album get lost in the mix. While atmospheric, and certainly containing an appeal to the twee, the album does not quite reach it's full potential. All the elements are there for something amazing, but it just doesn't quite get there. Keep an eye on this band though, they will only improve with time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, Chill CD, July 22, 2008
This review is from: Elevator Dream (MP3 Download)
There's really nothing bad to say about this CD. The music itself is very ambient and relaxing (the exception being "Pop Song" which is, true to its name, very upbeat and catchy), and each song flows smoothly into the next. It's well worth the price of a mere 9 bucks.
