2010 release from the roots-based Country outfti. Eleven Hundred Springs plays real Country music. The kind Hank Williams and Waylon Jennings played. With their classic country sound, EHS are part of a current semi-rebellious Texas music movement to "Take Country Back" from Nashville much like the Outlaw music movement did back in the 1970s. This Crazy Life is the follow up to 2008's release Country Jam, which was produced by Lloyd Maines. From the opening title track, (a lament of life on the road) to the hard-driving party anthem "Great American Trainwreck"; This Crazy Life gets off to a toe-tapping start. The album's first single "Show Me The Money" speaks to an emotion that people in these troubled times are sure to relate to.

Start to finish, I love this one. But I'm a biased, old-school EHS fan. Seeing them live is exactly what it means to live in Texas. Hot nights in a packed venue swilling beer and actually hearing apologies when someone bumps into you. That good-natured vibe carries over onto this album. The title song has one of simplest, catchiest riffs I've heard in a long time. Matt's vocals are spot on, and the band has never been tighter. You want this record!

This release is (in my humble opinion) a huge victory for Texas Country music scene which has in recent years depreciated due to a overabundance of conservative songwriting on Americana radio. The first two songs here are instant classics and full of the kind of fun that will stay with you for a long time. TCL will come to be appreciated as a strong release by one of the best of the lone star country-rock bands. Bravo boys!
