Wonderful story about evolving friendships,
By A Customer
This review is from: Eleven (Winnie Years) (Hardcover)
I enjoyed reading about Winnie and her life experiences. It really made me remember back to my childhood, and my 5th-6th grade years in school. Those can be really difficult times. I think that readers can really relate to Winnie and both the good and difficult times that she experiences. I enjoyed the interesting stories and adventures that happen to Winnie each month of her 11th year of life. As an elementary school teacher myself, I would highly reccomend this book to my students. It can really help students understand how relationships do grow and change over time.

Oh, the woes of turning eleven and having your perfectly planned birthday party turn out not exactly the way you planned. And to make matters worse your best friend is changing and hanging out with different girls and giggling over boys. Winnie must cope with the changes in her friend, the fickle moods of her teenage sister, and a whole myriad of feelings about boys that are hard to figure out. This bittersweet coming of age story is fast-paced and sure to hit the mark with the preteen set.

Book about the change between friends,
This review is from: Eleven (Winnie Years) (Kindle Edition)
I thoroughly loved this book. I would say it is best suited for middle schoolers, but a wide range of people could like it. In the book, Winnie has just turned eleven years old, and her life is changing quickly. Her best friend isn't her best friend anymore, she likes a guy that doesn't like her back, and has to deal with Dinah, her dad's boss' daughter. Dinah becomes much more when she and Winnie find a common ground. See how Winnie deals with all these changes in Eleven by Lauren Myracle. Read this book!

I would just like to say that this is the most awsomeness book ever, so for all you eleven year old girls this is the book for you!If your not interested, then listen to this! Reading a new book is like eating a new type of food. First you smell it, then you observe it, then you give it a try! Winnie is a great role model and goes through the same problems as you. Check out this new book! (oh! and just for health problems, don't eat the book!).

Finally! A realalistic book for both kids and tweens!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Eleven (Winnie Years) (Paperback)
I enjoyed this book, from start to finish. Lauren Myracle graspes a eleven year olds like as if you were Winnie because of the personality devolpement. I liked the unique way of telling the story with months, starting with March and ending with it. Winnie seems like a very good girl, for the fact that she becomes friends with Dinah, who isn't the coolest girl on the block.-Emiliann Williams

A Pre-teen Girl's Life With Many Turns and Twists!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Eleven (Hardcover)
Girls, are you in the mood for a trip of thoughts and actions of an eleven year old girl? Well, if you are, the book Eleven by Lauren Myracle is the book for you. This realistic fiction book takes the reader on a trip you'll probably never forget. Winnie is a pre-teen in fifth grade turning 11, her biggest event in her life. Everything is changing; her friends, her family, her older sister, and even her crush. That's not all; crazy things happen like a cat stuck in the wall, a change in her friendship with her best friend ever in the world, the arrival of an unlikable girl in school, almost dying of being stung by a jellyfish, and many other crazy events you might want to find out by reading. This book kept me laughing throughout the whole book, as if Winnie was like my friend, and so when I wanted to read the book, it was like I wanted to find out and know what had happened to a friend. Myracle really helped me feel like I was right there watching everything happen, and therefore when I wanted to help Winnie, I couldn't. For readers that want to know how fifth grade will be, or to remind yourself about your past life, the book for you is Eleven!

Best Book Ever,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Eleven (Winnie Years) (Paperback)
I was in third grade when i first read this book ( that was the first time my mom gave in). I started it after dinner that very night, after completing my homework, and i read the whole thing. I was up untill 12:30 ( i don't recomend this on a school night). I loved how it showed a real 11 year olds life. I am ten now and it is basically how girls around this age are. I would recomend this book for ages 8+
