3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
The description of the book wasn't very clear, I was expecting this to be the book that they have at the end of the movie, so somewhat disappointed I can't give to my young child for a few more years.

Realistic Fiction

Elf and the City is a great realistic fiction book if you like elves. Santa sends Buddy the elf on a mission to find his real dad because he's an elf but, he's very tall for his age. Everyone respects him as an elf. Buddy goes on a journey to the city to find his father.Walter isn't very happy with him.Walter doesn't really like the holidays as much Buddy does.

Buddy went to the mall with weird elf clothes on as always. He sees a girl dressed up as an elf named Jovie. He went over to talk to her and the manager came and told him to get to work mistaking him as a working elf in costume. Buddy is a very tall elf. He has curly hair a pointy hat and to finish his look he has a elf outfit. Santa, Buddy's leader dresses always in a jolly red suit. Walter, Buddy's dad wears a suit and is mean to Buddy all the time.

Elf and the city by Leslie Goldman is a great book for ages 5 - 10. It's also a really easy book to understand it's a great holiday time book for kids. If you like a good Christmas book this is for you. Even though you learned Buddy did have some trouble on the way to the city he will come through in the end. So your going to have to read the book to find out what Buddy does in the end!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what you think it is..., January 26, 2011
This review is from: Elf: Elf and the City (Paperback)
This is not the story at the end of the movie, nor is it a synopsis of the movie. It is poorly written with a very weak plot and a trivial solution. It is a big waste of money and I won't even sell it back on here because I don't want to dissapoint someone else.
