Absolutely enchanting!,

The moment I heard this during the movie's opening credits I knew I had to have the soundtrack's score. The composition for the opening credits instantly brought tears to my eyes. ELF is a must-own for anyone with a heart and an ear for lovely music. It's a wonderfully sweet score that's light as a feather, cheering and never cloying. And while it's guaranteed to move you in the Christmas spirit, it's also a CD guaranteed to bring tears of joy all year round. Highly recommended for anyone who loves the lighthearted style of a musical fairy tale!

Very satisfied, great music from the movie, especially Buddy's theme. For those who really enjoyed the movie all the music will have meaning.

there is just something magical about the entire score, makes me want to relive the movie again while listening to the soundtrack. it has just the right kind of happy christmas mood. it is not genius but it hits the spot on making one happy and warm. on a side note: People should read the track listening before buying a CD.

This has become a regular holiday indulgence along with A Christmas Story, Scrooged, and It's a Wonderful Life. It's fun for all ages.

This is the instrumental music from the movie. I've also got a CD with some of the songs, but this is the most recognizable music. Even my 5yr old grandson will hear the first selection and announce "ELF"!!!!!

Boring score - Buy the soundtrack record instead!,

There's nothing original whatsoever about this score. Buy the soundtrack and feast your ears on zooey deschanel's "Baby, its cold outside". Its the best holiday music compilation in years.

Don't buy this one by mistake, why they even released this one...i don't know. It is a bilious condition that causes all hollywood movie scores to sound so blandly offensive, some more watered down classical tripe, from the john williams school of psuedo classical music, oh well, you still have Zooey to help keep you warm, buy the other one.

The highlight of this album is the Leon Redbone & Zooey Deschanel duet of "Baby, It's Cold Outside"... heck, I'd buy a whole album of Christmas tunes if Zooey would do one. Gorgeous girl, sexy voice reminiscent of crooners of the 40s and 50s.A few of the other Christmas tunes can be easily found elsewhere, so if you're a Holiday music afficionado like me you're only getting this for a handful of songs, but for everyone out there this is a fantastic mix. Also has two non-Christmas tunes - Louis Prima's "Pennies from Heaven" and Louis Prima's "Nothing From Nothing". While I could do without the latter, after seeing "Elf" I think "Pennies from Heaven" will remind me of the Holiday as well. |
