5.0 out of 5 stars An exciting fantasy adventure!
Daniel Kirk has written a fascinating story which is captivating from the very start. It's a page turner for children of all ages. He has created a timeless adventure. The characters in this book practically jump out from the pages with vivid detail and excite the imagination. My favorite character is Tomtar because of his innocence and the dilemmas that he faces as he...

1.0 out of 5 stars Should be horror not fantasy.
This book starts out with blood, gore and death then leads into even more of it. If you're looking for a fantasy/adventure where humans and elves work side by side then this isn't what you're looking for. The elves are stone cold killers (of human kids) and want nothing more than to keep on killing. The author really should have presented this as a horror story since...

This review is from: Elf Realm: The Low Road (Elf Realm Trilogy) (Bk.1) (Hardcover)
Daniel Kirk has written a fascinating story which is captivating from the very start. It's a page turner for children of all ages. He has created a timeless adventure. The characters in this book practically jump out from the pages with vivid detail and excite the imagination. My favorite character is Tomtar because of his innocence and the dilemmas that he faces as he crosses the boundary from the elfin world and befriends the human children, Becky and Matt. It's so much fun to read about how Tomtar evolves psychologically and morphs physically as the plot thickens. I can't wait for book two in this triolgy!

1.0 out of 5 stars Should be horror not fantasy., January 6, 2011
This book starts out with blood, gore and death then leads into even more of it. If you're looking for a fantasy/adventure where humans and elves work side by side then this isn't what you're looking for. The elves are stone cold killers (of human kids) and want nothing more than to keep on killing. The author really should have presented this as a horror story since that's what it really is and I would never give this book to a young reader. I couldn't even get past the third chapter myself because the whole thing just went from bad to much worse with no hope of getting any better. Avoid Elf Realm and read Fablehaven instead, you'll be glad you did.
