This disc includes 2 Cello concertos, played by Mstislav Rostropovich.
The first, the Elgar Concerto of Cello and Orchestra in E minor, Op. 85, was recorded November 28, 1958 with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Natan Rakhlin.

The second is the Britten Symphony for Cello and Orchestra, Op. 68, which is dedicated to Mstislav Rostropovich and this is the world premiere recording of this work on March 12, 1964 with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Benjamin Britten.

The running time of this CD is 58'10"
