2.0 out of 5 stars A couple problems, November 27, 2007

First off, I also get "time drift". Not always a bad thing as I seem to need an extra 10 minutes, but at the moment the clock is about 40 minutes fast. A pain to keep resetting. Also, only has one alarm so I have to keep resetting depending on what the next day is. Lastly, I returned my first one because the volume control doesn't work for the alarm nature sounds (which are loud!), only for the sleep sounds. Turns out that's the way it works. But good nature sounds. "Coulda been a champ".

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice but it has some issues, September 12, 2007

I really enjoy the nature sounds that this alarm clock uses. There are some that you can use to fall asleep or relax and others that you can use to wake up. If you like a regular alarm sound it has that too. The ability to adjust the volume is nice as well. My big problem with this alarm clock is that it doesn't keep time properly. Mine is always running fast and if I reset it it's off by at least ten minutes again within a day.

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke quickly & not very peaceful..., May 3, 2008
This review is from: Nature Sounds Alarm Clock (Electronics)
I purchased this alarm clock due to the fact that I have to have noise in the background when I sleep since I work days & can't stay asleep due to intermittant outside noises. I'm not overly picky about my alarm clocks as long as it's somewhat soothing to wake up to. I figured that since this was a nature noise clock that I'd be able to wake up more peacefully than I would with my radio clock. Unfortunately this wasn't the case, as the waking sounds were incredibly harsh & grating. I'd rather wake up to a blaring alarm clock than the sounds the clock had on it (and you couldn't adjust the sound on it!) Even the sleep sounds were a little too noisy for my tastes. If they were just general background noises it would be fine, but not for something I'm supposed to sleep to.

I figured that I'd give it a longer trial or at least use it as a nature sounds machine for when I was awake, but the machine broke within a few hours of my bringing it home! At first I assumed that it was something I did wrong (the noises wouldn't turn off), but after some extensive reading of the manual I concluded that it was the machine. And if you were wondering, I didn't do anything that would break it. I plugged the machine in the kitchen outlets (worked fine enough), but upon taking it upstairs & plugging it in there, the clock decided that it wasn't going to work.

Would I recommend this? No. The sounds are too loud, not very soothing for a sleep clock, & you can't adjust the volumes on them. Not only that, but it broke soon after I purchased it.
