Product Description

A sweeping saga of one fearless man of God facing a decaying nation, a sadistic queen and a totally sensual religion. This magnificent story vividly portrays the heroic adventures of the prophet Elijah as, alone, he confronts Queen Jezebel in her malicious scheme to supplant the worship of Jehovah with the sensuous fertility cult of Baal.

Here is an ingenious blend of authentic Bible history and imagination stemming from years of research. Elijah . . . Jezebel . . . Ahab—names charged with electric emotion! In this brilliant historical novel names become flesh and blood people transformed into haunting, explosive reality. The reader lives with them in the terrible presence of frenzied, demonic priests and enslaved devotees of Baal—and, all alone, God’s servant Elijah turns the tide of Jewish history! After you have read The Mantle you will never again be the same!

Elijah has been translated into five other languages. This identical book has been published as The Mantle and Prophet of Fire.

ELIJAH April 14, 2011
Format:Paperback
Elijah is probably one of the best written biblical books I've ever read.
It screams of the idol worship of today. It shows us as great as a prophet Elijah was,he still had fears of death & what the people would do to him.All the miracles he performed & yet had doubt at times. The book shows us how human & frail mankind can be, but in the end trusting in God brought him through just like it will us. I have read this book at least 5 times, I need a new copy,mine is so worn out.
It is a must read for every Christian.

Gripping and Informative February 6, 2012

The author of this fascinating historical novel is true to the Biblical text, while at the same time creating some believable extra-Biblical characters to round out the narrative. He writes in a well-crafted and easy to read style. I read the book on my new Kindle Fire and noticed quite a few typographical errors, probably due to Optical Character Reading glitches. I marked the errors in the text with corrections, and would be happy to share those corrections with the editors at Amazon if they would like to correct the digital edition.

Funny how lust is so integral a part of religion. A religion often is rejected or accepted simply because of its view of sex. He chuckled. Is truth then bound up in sex? he asked himself aloud. "e;
