Lame...But in a Good Way,
By
This review is from: Eliminators [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Mandroid. Yes, he lives! After many brushes with destruction, Mandroid seeks his evil creator, helped by Nora Hunter (Denise Crosby), Harry Fontana (Andrew Prine), Kuju (Conan Lee), and 'Spot' a tiny flying robot that looks and sounds like R2D2 of Star Wars fame (perhaps they are cousins).
It's a pretty bad film, with dialog such as 'Hey, look at all of these papers! They're in Latin! and 'Yes, you are a machine, but you are a human, too!', 'turn back or you will be destroyed!', and 'the beam will turn your atoms inside out!' The plot, such as it is, involves a time-traveling evil genius and of course, one of his projects, the Mandroid. The Mandroid was created out of hardware store parts, Spot moves via lame special effects, and the weapons are often inaccurate beams of light-bullets. Things look hopeless! Can Mandroid save the day? Recommended for mildly diverting and often chuckle-inducing dialog, 'special' effects, and pretty rotten plot that will have perhaps my goldfish guessing.

Love this movie. You've got mandroid's, evil mad scientists, rogue adventurers,
strange little flying droids, history manipulation and NINJAS!!! Who could ask for anything more??? Put your brain on hold for 89 minutes, sit back and enjoy. This is one of those movies that I'm sure will never be released on DVD. Like "Xandu", it should become a cult classic. If only it were ever remastered and distributed. There will be an audience for it. This I promise. Love this movie.

Got this for my younger brother. It ws one of his favorites when he was little. For what it is, it's actually pretty well done. You may have similar good memories of it yourself...

Eliminators (1986)is a not so much action science fiction film that CBS FOX video has realsed on video in 1987 and is just one of those daytime films, the summary is in which John (Patrick Renyolds) is a airplane piolt who crash lands and is rescued by evil scentist Abbott Reeves (Roy Dotrice) who turns him into a universe soldier like android named Mandroid and uses him to take over history, Mandroid decides to flee from Abbott and teams up with Scentist Nora (Denise Crosby) Jungle guide Harry Fontanna (Andrew Prine) and Ninja Chan (Conan Lee) to strike back at him as they begin to invade his labotory fortress. the film is directed by Peter Manoogian (Demonic toys) and Eliminators has not much action, good think that Manoogian didn't make the sequel.
