Five stars isn't enough for this wonderful DVD
I am so grateful that this treasure has been unearthed from the vaults and made available. Production values are minimal, but the art is superlative and the enchantment, complete. There is no trace of kitsch here. Madame Schwarzkopf brings enormous charm and conviction to these operetta arias; there is nothing arch, condescending or precious in her delivery. Her...

a collector's item for the real fan
Although technically beneath standard, this dvd with all its shortcomings (sound and image) is a must for the real fan of Viennese music. Just think of it: Elisabeth Schwarzkopf in concert with Willy Boskovsky. A gem beyond value! Omer Bruggeman

I am so grateful that this treasure has been unearthed from the vaults and made available. Production values are minimal, but the art is superlative and the enchantment, complete. There is no trace of kitsch here. Madame Schwarzkopf brings enormous charm and conviction to these operetta arias; there is nothing arch, condescending or precious in her delivery. Her radiant voice is a treat to hear throughout. A desert island DVD, to my mind, just as her famous Operetta Arias album is. Boskovsky is perfection. This show was a labor of love, and I have already watched it four times.
