Have had this BD Player now for over a couple of years now and it has been second to none. The picture quality is amazing and you can tweak the settings beyond any other player I've owned/used. The main reason I bought this was because of the outstanding reviews that audio/visual professionals have rained upon it. I was not disappointed and have not had any trouble with mine as an earlier reviewer had commented. The one thing that should be noted though is that I've constantly kept up with the firmware/software updates. This has kept my player running smoothly and better than when I first purchased it. Although Pioneer no longer makes this player and the overall price of players has come down immensely I would still look around eBay for a good deal on this model as they are occasionally found and worth the effort.

It will be 3 years this february that l purchased this player and never had a single problem players of this built quality are just not made anymore l love it.this player is however a region 1 dvd player but will play region free blu-rays & dvds.

This Pioneer Elite BDP is nowise for the dilaton. This outstanding unit--as is the DENON A1UDCI DVD Unit--were made for the audo/Video Phile. Because only the Audio/Video Phile can aptly appreciate this outstanding unit.

I've had 2 new units since 12/09.Both units the blu ray drive/laser failed.Now this second replacement unit ($2200) sits in the closet.
