4.0 out of 5 stars Great and Easy to Setup!
It only took me about two hours to set the whole thing up, and it's very comfortable and perfect for a beginner to weight training. I gave it a four though because the tools included to set it up were sub par at best, I had to use my own tools to construct it if I didn't want to spend 5 hours haha. Also, the written directions were somewhat lacking, but the pictures were...

The picture doesn't do it justice. It is dimensionally smaller than it looks. It's too narrow, too short and too flimsy.

The picture doesn't do it justice. It is dimensionally smaller than it looks. It's too narrow, too short and too flimsy.

When they say "400 pounds max", that means total. Both you and your weights. The bench is labeled as supporting a person up to 150. The bar holder can support 100 max (bar and weights). And the leg press can hold a whopping 50 pounds.

Additionally:
-The bar holder uprights are spaced too close together.
-the bench is too short
-the welds are incomplete

So, if you're thinking this bench will replace an olympic bench, think again. It's NOT a bargain priced olympic bench. It's an undersized bench for midgets.

If you're over six feet tall, don't buy this. If you weigh more than 150 lbs., don't buy this. The only reason I'm generously giving this product two stars is because it was easy to assemble within about 2 hours.

Now to figure out how to return mine... too bad I assembled it already. :(

2.0 out of 5 stars It's for people with tiny heads!, December 21, 2010

The bench is okay if you don't want to do incline bench presses. Expect to smash your head between the bar and bench if you do incline bench presses. Two of the bolts stripped. The other bolts need tightening on a regular basis. It works good for standard bench presses and butterfly curls which is why it gets two stars.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, March 26, 2011

This is a bit smaller than it looks in picture, and if your a normal sized human being the bar will basically try to smash your face on the inclined setting so you have to turn your head when returning the bar to the rests. Besides this, it is a good deal, I couldn't find a cheaper bench that would hold me. A word of warning: the 400 pound limit is broken down as such: 150 lb on the bar, 175 for the user, and 75 on the leg lift. This is kind of deceptive and I do not appreciate that I cannot put more on the bar.

3.0 out of 5 stars Small but serviceable bench, February 3, 2011

Good:
* Inexpensive
* easy to assemble (the tools included are perfectly adequate but a good set of ratcheting wrenches make it much easier)
* fits my wife's 5'4" frame perfectly
* Weight capacity of 400lbs is plenty for our limited uses

Bad:
* A little small for my 5'9" frame; the uprights are a little narrow requiring small hand shift when lifting/lowering the bar and I can't use the leg lift because my shins are too long

Comments:
* Weight capacity of only 400lbs was going to be a "Bad:" until I realized that if your combined body+load weight is over this, you should really be using high-end equipment anyway.

3.0 out of 5 stars Simple Weight bench, October 10, 2010

This weight bench was easy to put together took maybe all of 15 minutes to put it together. It is a simple to use weight bench if you are just starting off lifting weights. Well worth the money. Only thing that is bad about it is probably the leg attachment its built for a teenager other than that it does what its suppose too.

1.0 out of 5 stars Child's Size, June 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Elite Fitness Standard Weight Bench (Sports)
This bench is WAY too small - I certainly wouldn't recommend it for anyone above 6'. Doing incline presses on it is impossible, my head ends up where the bar is supposed to be. Very disappointing.

This was definitly worth the money use it almost everyday wasnt that hard to put together probly took me about 20 minutes im about 5.8 and its the perfect size if ur about 6.1 might be a little uncomfortable. The only thing bad about this is you cant use the leg part to lift weights its to low to the ground thats why i gave it a 4 other then that its perfect
