Product Description

Size: Small Medium Large X-Large 2X-Large

Electric Elixir® Strings with NANOWEB® Coating deliver the presence, punch, and personality of traditional electric guitar strings but with extended tone life, consistent performance and greater playability. With less hassle and expense of frequent string changes, you enjoy more time making music. From the stadiums to the street, Elixir Strings players tell us their tone lasts longer than any other string, uncoated or coated. While other electric strings lose their mojo fast due to dirt and debris, Elixir Strings is the only coated string brand to protect the entire string with an ultra-thin coating, keeping gunk out of the gaps between the windings. The Anti-Rust Plated Plain Steel Strings also resists tone-deadening corrosion, ensuring longer life for the entire set. Light Gauges: 010 013 017 026 036 046. These are the best strings ever. I've tried almost every string on the market, and these are by far my favorite. They sound great and last forever. Believe the hype...they really DO last FAR longer than any other strings, and they sound great while doing it.

Many other strings will sound great for a short while, but as soon as they get "gunked up", they lose any brilliance and tone, and become dead sounding. Not these. They will sound great for the life of the string. In fact, the only way I know to change them eventually is not because they stop sounding good (which they don't), but because I'll start having intonation problems and I know the strings need to be changed. Normal wear and tear does that, but these strings last SO long.

I've tried the polyweb strings from Elixir as well, but I didn't like those at all. To me, they didn't FEEL right. Sticky or something (not like your fingers stick to the strings, but like you could tell they were coated). With the Nanowebs, they sound AND feel like regular strings, but last forever. The only string I'll use.

I hardly ever review anything on Amazon, unless I really really think I should let people know about a great product and that's the case here. Sure these strings are pricey, and they do last a long time for sure, which should offset the cost somewhat... but to me the most outstanding aspect of these strings is the tone. I have a Gibson Les Paul and a PRS SAS and with these strings on both guitars seem to come alive in a way that is hard to describe. It's almost as if the guitar breathes better...if that makes sense. It's almost as if the guitars have a lighter finish, allowing more of the instruments natural harmonic overtones to come through... Highly Recommended.

My son bought these for his Steinberger, in hopes of saving money on strings. I can't tell you how pleased he is with these. For my son, regular strings have always started to feel "crummy" after only a week of playing, because of the build up of sweat and dirt. And that's with him taking the time to clean his strings. With these strings, weeks after putting them on, he says they still feel new. He's says they literally feel like he just put them on yesterday. Whatever miracle coating they use on these strings certainly works. My son likes them so much, he's getting ready to buy these for all of his guitars. This are great strings and well worth the price.

Elixir strings are more expensive by a few dollars when compared to standard electric guitar strings with equivalent tone and quality. However, Elixir strings will last longer, and maintain that "new string sound" for much longer than non-coated strings. I have enjoyed playing on elixirs for a while now, and I have never had anything but good things to say about them. One point of debate, and this all matters on opinion, is that Elixirs, like many other coated strings out there, are quite slick. There are those, like myself, that appreciate the feeling and the ease of sliding up and down the neck. Also, there are people who don't. On a side note, if you are after a coated string that feels like a regular string, look into D'addario's EXP line. I've tried both and personally prefer elixirs, but the choice is yours. Either way, you are paying a few extra dollars, but the strings won't need to be replaced nearly as frequently, so you probably save money in the long run with coated strings in general.

Excellent sound coming from these strings even with age. However I've had three incidents of either being on stage or radio where one of the strings broke on me. Sound quality +10, reliability +4. I love how they sound so I record with them, I just don't trust them when I'm performing live.

I've used a few different brands of strings in my 17 years playing the guitar. I had settled on GHS Boomers, which were probably my favorites up until a few months ago. Then a guy at Guitar Center recommended these Elixir strings when I complained about my Boomers only lasting two weeks or so with regular playing.

They really do last for months without losing their tone or starting to accumulate gunk. I had long been in the habit of washing my hands any time I wanted to play some guitar, and I also wipe the strings down after playing, but regular strings just tend to get gunked-up too soon no matter how well I care for them. These, though, they're still shiny and new after two months. I wipe them down maybe once a week.

I've got no major complaints about the way they sound, but I'll admit they don't sound as good as a brand-new pair of Boomers. The difference is slight, but it's noticeable to me. That said, Boomers (and any other brand) usually only sound great for two or three days, then they start to build up gunk and lose their tone completely within a week or two. A very slight sacrifice in tone, and I get about 10 times the life out of these strings. (Actually, I don't know how much life I'll get out of them. I'm still on my first set. I can see them lasting six months before I absolutely have to change them.)

Used a lot of strings (GHS, Fenders, Yamaha, D'Addario, Slinkys), by far the Elixir NanoWeb sounds best among them. They surly last a lot longer.

ALL STRINGS SOUND GREAT AT FIRST, they just have to. However, the Elixers do sound better in my opinion. They have a nicer cool mellow tone.

Happy Rockin
