I got these for my SoundGear 4 string. Because my 5 string Schecter came with elixir strings and they still have good tone after 4 years! The nanoweb coating is easy on your fingers. Do yourself a favor and get these.

These strings are great, just be careful when you install them, because they can break if you tighten them too quickly. I always tighten them a little, stretch them with your fingers, tighten a little more...etc. Once they're on and in tune, they're the best.

I have used Elixir bass strings before, in a busy, tourist-oriented variety band in which I played bass. They have a great tone and last a very long time, which was important to me as I didn't have the time or desire to be constantly changing strings. I knew that I could pull my bass out of the gig bag and it would sound as great as the first day I installed the strings.
Recently, I have been playing with a group that does a lot of outdoor gigs at beach bars, patio decks, etc., here in the hot weather and humidity of Florida. I noticed that the flatwound strings I had been using were giving me problems with my fingers sticking to the strings and I was making mistakes and losing a lot of my dexterity.
So, I decided to switch back to the Elixirs. Besides their great tone and staying fresh for a long time, one of the other benefits is, the Nanoweb coating also imparts a certain slippery or slick feel to the strings. This prevents the finger sticking problem and actually
increases speed and mobility. I will rely on my Elixirs from now on, to make sure I perform at the same high level consistently, and
with consistently great tone! Highly recommend Elixir strings to anyone dealing with similar problems or just wanting to try a really
great string. Major guitar and bass manufacturers use Elixir strings as factory equipment... you won't be disappointed!
