A Blog I wouldn't recommend reading, April 23, 2009
This review is from: Elizabeth Song Shanker: An adoption journey (Paperback)
I read this book the day I got it in one very fast sitting. This book is really only 60 pages and more than 50% of it is just a page with one photo and short caption on it.
I realized that this book was a blog, and I love reading other's blogs when they are adopting from China. However, I didn't really enjoy reading this book. It didn't have a lot of substance, even for a blog. They woke up, they did paperwork or watched movies, they went to sleep. The girls are adorable and I wish there had been more about them.
Even when they got Lily, the blog basically just stated that they got Lily. There was no emotion, or even background on what they did to get Lily or anything that took place. And the book abruptly ends even before they leave for home.
I personally would not recommend this book to anyone.

Author Review, August 26, 2007
This review is from: Elizabeth Song Shanker: An adoption journey (Paperback)
Hi - I am the author and thought I would write a few lines about the book.
While in China in August 2005 I would send emails (w/pictures) to friends and family about our days events. After the very 1st email, I was shocked by the positive emails I received back from virtually everyone. They all told me how much they enjoyed my emails and they all felt like they were in China with us. The positive feedback led me to continue my nightly emails (typically written once the rest of the family was asleep).
Once we returned from our 2 week trip, I made a mental note that someday I needed to save these emails for my daughters.
This book is my 2 week journal and I hope you enjoy it.
