Book Description

April 6, 1999
Elizabeth Taylor first captured hearts as a child actress in the classic film National Velvet. But in the five decades since she first became a household name, Taylor has transcended the label of "movie star," and distinguished herself as a savvy businesswoman and a tireless humanitarian. Now, in a dazzling audio tribute, the life and times of one of America's most beloved stars is chronicled-in the words of Taylor herself, and by those who know her best.

Elizabeth Taylor: A Tribute traces the highs and lows of this Hollywood icon: her eight husbands, her critically acclaimed performances in films like Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe? And Butterfield 8, and her struggle with substance abuse. It also features highlights from rare press conferences with Richard Burton, colorful Q&A sessions with fans, and revealing one-on-one interviews. These candid clips touch on such wide-ranging subjects as acting, marriage, children, growing older, and the topic that has grown closest to Taylor's heart in recent years: the quest for a cure for AIDS.

This remarkable presentation includes accolades from some of show business's brightest stars, including Sammy Davis Jr., Michael Jackson, Tippi Hedren, Billy Bob Thornton, Carrie Fisher, Ed McMahon, and Liza Minnelli. Saluting a life that has been a stunning mixture of triumph and tragedy, charisma and compassion, Elizabeth Taylor: A Tribute is a loving portrait of one of America's most cherished national treasures.

This book is too self-obsorbing. Not much sustance. Mostly entertaining fun.

This tribute is a mastermind to all thanks. It is great! It tells of her works, and just, well I am speachless. It is just great. Get the real thing, get this. The real Liz that we should all pay homage to.

Thanks Geoffrey for such a wonderful recording.
