Book Description

When a shocking accident takes the life of her best friend, Elizabeth Nelson flies to the rescue of the orphaned children, carrying a letter that grants her custody. Her friend’s brother-in-law, gruff rancher Jack Summers, is already there, organizing the funeral and planning to take the children back to Montana. With separate legal claims and a concerned social worker looking on, the two strangers desperately search for a way to keep the children together. Their solution: Marriage. Elizabeth is willing to set aside her dull, empty life, in the hopes of having a family. Jack will do whatever it takes to ensure his ranch eventually passes to his brother’s children. Will they find love in the bargain?
As they settle into their new lives, Jack and Elizabeth discover a mutual attraction. But will they recognize the love that’s grown between them before another tragedy strikes?

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm liking this author November 2, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Marrying for the sake of the children and without love is unusual in the 21st century. But this time it works for Elizabeth, who is at a stage in her life when she needs a change, a new direction. Her love for the children of her dead friend gives her a new purpose. The fly in the ointment is the children's Uncle Jack, who wants custody of the kids. Jack and Elizabeth are forced to marry to keep the children out of foster care. Throw in some mystery surrounding the death of the children's parents, some danger, and romance, and the story will grab you. I read this novella in one sitting.

4.0 out of 5 stars good storyline, but.. October 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this story, but found myself skipping through a lot of the sexual attraction stuff. Like enough already. Get to it. Get it over with so we can get on with the story. Overall I enjoyed the book. Read it in 3 days.

This was a very intriguing, suspenseful, tender love story that brings tears of endearing love to your heart and eyes. I want to thank Gina for helping me through some of my own personal "Hangups" and helping me move on with my Hero.

More About the Author

Gina Coon resides in Southern California with her husband and children. When she isn't writing she enjoys sewing and crafts, as well as volunteering at her church, scouts, and her kids' schools.

For more than a decade Gina was defined as a (crazy) homeschool mom. After retiring from homeschooling, she found herself at loose ends, unused to having time on her hands. As a little girl her head was filled with made up stories and that hasn't changed. An avid reader, she's always loved books and the idea of writing one. Deciding to capitalize on all those years of teaching and editing her sons' essays, she quietly started a project. She had no idea if she'd produce a decent paragraph, let alone a whole story. Her first book, Elizabeth's Hero, was a huge personal achievement that launched a love affair with writing.

Her Christian faith is often reflected in her stories. The main characters are generally good people with strong values and, of course, there is always a happy ending!
