A Day with Nancy,

This review is from: Elizabethtown [Original Score] (Audio CD)
The only thing that would make this recording better is if Nancy Wilson herself invited me to sit on the floor with a cup of coffee while she played her guitar for me on her back porch.
Dear God, this woman knows the notes of the soul and she plays them exactly the way they were meant to be played. I put this music on today and listened while watching snow fly. If you write, paint, cook, think, breathe...buy this cd and wrap yourself up in it. Thank you Nancy for a perfect afternoon.

More amazing music from Nancy Wilson,

Quite an amazing score. Americana-tinged instrumentals that are extremely cinematic. If you're a fan of her work in her husband's other movies, you'll certainly enjoy this one.
By the way, this cd is not content protected as stated, so don't let that keep you away from a quality purchase.

Nancy is perfection,
By T. A. MacDonald "It's about the effin music!" (Southern Maine, USA) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Elizabethtown [Original Score] (Audio CD)
I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviews. Nancy Wilson has outdone herself this time. This score creates a feeling and a mood that fits so perfectly with the film, which is exactly what a score is supposed to do. As usual, Nancy shows us what a virtuoso she really is. She wrote, produced, and played all the instruments (though she did have some help from her Heart bandmates). Her intricate guitar work makes you feel so at ease. She continues to explore her newfound love affair with the mandolin throughout the entire score. She is undoubtedly one of the most talented guitarists ever. She extracts so much Heart and soul from the guitar, you feel emotion with every note she plays. The music ranges from bluegrass to blues to a real down home feel.
While Elizabethtown was a good film...as are all Cameron films....I believe that the real winner is Nancy's score. If this score does not win an Academy Award, I will officially lose all respect for the Oscars. I don't want to see another "Star Wars" score walk away with the big prize. Isn't it time to give it to a score whose music induces real emotion. Not to mention that Nancy Wilson has paid her dues, it is her time to shine, she is a wonderful person, and she deserves to be recognized for the amazingly talented musician/producer/composer that she is.
