5.0 out of 5 stars A Day with Nancy
The only thing that would make this recording better is if Nancy Wilson herself invited me to sit on the floor with a cup of coffee while she played her guitar for me on her back porch.

Dear God, this woman knows the notes of the soul and she plays them exactly the way they were meant to be played.

1.0 out of 5 stars Totally Ripped Off
Any one who puts out a CD with 21 songs on it that totals 30 minutes of music on it is the "Rippe" and the person who buys it is "Totally Ripped Off" no matter who plays on it.

If you write, paint, cook, think, breathe...buy this cd and wrap yourself up in it.

Thank you Nancy for a perfect afternoon.

4.0 out of 5 stars More amazing music from Nancy Wilson, October 12, 2005
This review is from: Elizabethtown [Original Score] (Audio CD)
Quite an amazing score. Americana-tinged instrumentals that are extremely cinematic. If you're a fan of her work in her husband's other movies, you'll certainly enjoy this one.

By the way, this cd is not content protected as stated, so don't let that keep you away from a quality purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nancy is perfection, December 4, 2005
This review is from: Elizabethtown [Original Score] (Audio CD)
I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviews. Nancy Wilson has outdone herself this time. This score creates a feeling and a mood that fits so perfectly with the film, which is exactly what a score is supposed to do. As usual, Nancy shows us what a virtuoso she really is. She wrote, produced, and played all the instruments (though she did have some help from her Heart bandmates). Her intricate guitar work makes you feel so at ease. She continues to explore her newfound love affair with the mandolin throughout the entire score. She is undoubtedly one of the most talented guitarists ever. She extracts so much Heart and soul from the guitar, you feel emotion with every note she plays. The music ranges from bluegrass to blues to a real down home feel.

While Elizabethtown was a good film...as are all Cameron films....I believe that the real winner is Nancy's score. If this score does not win an Academy Award, I will officially lose all respect for the Oscars. I don't want to see another "Star Wars" score walk away with the big prize. Isn't it time to give it to a score whose music induces real emotion. Not to mention that Nancy Wilson has paid her dues, it is her time to shine, she is a wonderful person, and she deserves to be recognized for the amazingly talented musician/producer/composer that she is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nancy Rules, February 19, 2006

To have an entire album of Nancy Wilson playing guitar is pure heaven. This is an expertly-executed recording. It paints vivid images without saying one word. The music speaks for itself. Nancy "whizfingers" Wilson is one of the most gifted guitarists around - - so pick this up, sit back, and relax.

If you enjoyed the movie and/or love good music with a folk sound, you will love this.
There are some great tunes and rythmns to be found...and it all really flows very nicely together.
The movie is great also! [...]!! I have enjoyed it all evening and look forward to purchasing the song companion soundtrack!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Magic, October 24, 2005

I wholeHEARTedly concur with the other reviewers - the music in Elizabethtown just knocks your socks off! (We tend to expect that in a Cameron Crowe film, don't we?) Nancy Wilson's score is nothing short of miraculuous: roots music, from the HEARTland, C&W, authentic; whatever you want to call it, it hits home. And even if you're not familiar with Nancy's past work with a certain rock band, or even her previous movie scores, know one thing: the lady knows her way around a guitar (and a mandolin for that matter)! Listen to the bonus tracks: if you are not moved, you are not human. If you are a fan of acoustic music, or of just plain great music in general, buy this CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars It does turn... Grey skies blue!, October 23, 2005
This review is from: Elizabethtown [Original Score] (Audio CD)
The movie was good ... but the soundtrack and score are magical. They let the movie soar to a whole new level. If Elizabethtown doesn't win the Oscar for best musical score; the whole academy ought to tender their resignations. The music is mystical n' magical; ethereal n' eclectic ... n above all, as Drew says ... "The word is Whimsical."

4.0 out of 5 stars Great album, August 6, 2006
By
This review is from: Elizabethtown [Original Score] (Audio CD)
This is a great album and what Nancy Wilson has done is superb. However, I just noticed there are pieces of music missing off the original score for this film, 2 at least. They are: the one playing when Drew and Claire are driving towards each other and the music when they go back to get the urn, which is the same at the end of the film. I have been looking for the first piece and have been unable to find it on this CD. Does anyone know where I might be able to hear it or find out what it's called?

It was certainly worth the wait!! I wish they would have released scores for other soundtracks, Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous especially, featuring Nancy Wilson's beautiful acoustic music. This music is exceptional as in Nancy and her acoustic guitar!!! I bought two of these; one for me and another to give away. PLEASE, more acoustic songs from NANCY WILSON!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Much better than the movie!, January 18, 2008
This review is from: Elizabethtown [Original Score] (Audio CD)
I wish I could give this six stars. I loathed the movie, but I like the soundtracks, and I really love Nancy Wilson's incredible score. As others have noted, several of the offerings are quite short and the CD is only about 45 minutes long. But it just leaves me wanting more. Please, Nancy, give us more - an extended version would be super!
