This is my favorite Newsboys album and probably always will be, and of the album's 10 tracks, this is also my favorite. The first time I heard this song it gave me chills, and sometimes it still does, although as time has gone by (and I've ceased being an amped up teenager!) I've started to notice some of the overdramatic elements of the song. This is not a subtle song, but it is an honest one, born from intense, personal pain. Anyone touched by a suicide can relate. Not every song has to be understated and obtuse. Sometimes intense feelings can be related best through intense, if a bit obvious writing. The layering of the piano and keyboard are very much eighties, but not really harmful. The song is lyrical, powerful, moving, sad, and above all, directs the listener's focus back to God and His willingness to "overcome evil for good."
