This was a wonderful, thought provoking books full of what-if's. One one those rare gems you come up with now and then

I read this book years ago when it was first published in paperback. I found it to be thought provoking in presenting the moral and personal dilemmas involved in the ideal of changing history.

i love this book so much i named my youngest daughter eliander. i have 2 copies in hardcover, bought this to give to a friend. it is better than i remember, a great example of alternative history.

A friend loaned me this book in high school and it made such an impression on me that I am searching for it 12 years later! I keep trying to describe it to friends, but I can't do it justice. You must read it!

I am an avid reader and especially love books dealing with time travel. I discovered "Elleander Morning" by accident. It is one of a very few books that I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a "good read". It has everything. Action, adventure, a love story to end all love stories, and historical drama. I've read it four times and will read it again. I keep buying copies of it because I never want to loan it out and not have a copy of my own to fall back on.

This is the kind of book that sets your imagination to work and gives your intellect a workout. If you ever wondered "what if" this is the book for you

I had a very different experience from the other reviewers. I'm a big fan of time-travel and alternate history novels, and this one started terrifically, but I found the central plot device so hard to swallow that it really hurt the book for me. Without giving anything away, the assumption is that the publication of a _fictional_ book in _English_ which paints Germany in an unflattering light somehow gets the entire German nation in an enormous lather.

For better treatments in the same vein, I would recommend either "Time on My Hands" by Peter Delacorte, or "Replay" by Ken Grimwood.
