Book Description

In going through my Mother, Ellen Hinkleman's, meager belongings, on her death of June 3, 2011, my adopted brother, Alex and I, found a pile of dissheveled papers, notebooks, faded and torn, tearstained napkins and what appeared to be tattered, old loveletters, but, to our surprise, what we found was an unbelievable array of poetry, very well written and completely hidden from her family for over 44 years.
We were in awe of these fantastic poems, and just knew we had found a treasure that needed to be shared with the world!
I would like to invite you into the secret world of Ellen, with the introduction of her exquisite poetry, discover her love of nature, family, the overwhelming love she discovered and the devestation of loosing it.
Feel her, manic highs and destructive lows she experienced, and believe, me, you will relive these events with her as if she was still here!
Her writings are tasteful, descriptive, and captivating!
Enter into her world with me now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant and inspired November 21, 2012
By Alex
Format:Kindle Edition
The emotions Ellen conveyed in her poetry, whether they be of love, joy, or sadness, are so intense that I find myself relating to most of her poems. Through the use of very vivid imagery she was able to put into words the emotions that most of us have felt at one time or another but often couldn't find words to describe. I think many other readers will find themselves recalling similar situations and experiences and feel those same emotions welling up inside. Reading many of her poems, for me, was like hearing a song from long ago that brings long forgotten memories flooding back. Brilliant and inspired writing, you won't be disappointed.

An amazing work of art. Beautiful words from a troubled soul. What a gift! To know that of which was never told of the hidden emotions of one's life. Most intriguing "Torment", "Death", & "Impatient To Be Free" ... Most beautiful "Daddy" & so many more worth reading. Love found and lost... shear joy, and heart ache Everyone can relate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff here... November 18, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After reading this, I was amazed at the depth and quality of this collection of poems. I would say it is some of the best poetry I have ever read. It will be especially appreciated by anyone who has lived through lost love, like myself. It can be a bit dark at times, but then again, loss of love might be the darkest of all things about life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tender and Authentic Writings November 6, 2012
By leslie
Ellens poems bring emotions from the heart, love, joy, sadness, pain and loss. I Would like to have known what caused such feelings and pain that kept her writings hidden in a box from her family for her entire life. This must have been however, a great find for her family and friends to get a glimpse of her real heartfelt emotions, the ones which I'm sure she never shared with them. I enjoyed reading.

More About the Author

My wonderful mother, Cornelia "Ellen" Hinkleman, who is the author of the poetry entitled Ellen's Pearls, passed away on June 2011, with none of her family members knowing she had a secret poetry stash of amazingly descriptive and heart wrenching poems!
We found these, some unfinished, some scribbled, then revised, in notebooks, on napkins and faded papers, just about anything she could find to write on at the time she was motivated to create these amazing poems.
What we, (her daughter, Cathy Stahl, and my mother-in-law, Doris Wilson), did was put this disarray of thoughts into some form that would follow a story line to bring the reader into her world, so they could experience her thoughts and feelings, which were quite overwhelming for her.
Enter into her world and you will experience her manic highs, her destructive lows' and her love of nature, her family and life!
We hope you will enjoy this poetry as much as we did, upon discovering it!
