Another Goody By Pearse-A Story of Devoted Love No Matter What, September 14, 2005
In Ellie, by Lesley Pearse, it is all centered on two girls, Ellie, and Bonny. The two girls meet in London after the British War takes place, and become friends, though in character they are very opposite one another. Ellie a brunette, is loving, kind, and has a sparkling smile. Yet Bonnie who is beautiful and very spoiled by her doting parents, is deceptive in many ways. Ellie and Bonny were both separated from their parents during the war as evacuees. When the two finally meet, the hardship of war has passed, and they make a life together in the theatre.
As their friendship continues on though, there is a lot of lies and deception which Ellie sometimes doesn't know if she will stand for time and time again with Bonnie. Yet, she always abides by her wishes, no matter how painful they are to herself.
Too bad Lesley Pearse is not more of a well-known author here in the U.S. Her books should not be missed by avid readers and I highly recommend them.
