Editorial Reviews

"This movie was inspired by an article published in the New York Times in 2007 regarding nano-technology and its potential use for land mine removal around the world. The movie itself is a work of fiction, a sci-fi/comedy filmed locally in Sonoma California using local actors, featuring an original soundtrack also produced in part by the Writer/Director himself. What would happen today if the average Joe could fly around the galaxy on his own personal transport device? And what would happen if nano-technology could and would be used against ordinary citizens to manipulate human behavior? "Elliot's War" is a fictional story that illustrates one potential scenario and its unlikely outcome!

This film makes subtle and not so subtle references to technologies related to sustainability i.e. photovoltaic's, windmills, the search for a solution to drought conditions on earth. The carbon footprint of this movie was relatively minor. The shoot was limited to one primary location for 20 actors and travel for the outdoor scenes was limited to one half a dozen trips, mostly of which were less than 10 miles from the location of the sound stage for the movie. Very little petro was burned in the making of this movie and over a two year period approximately 20,000 pounds of C02 was offset by a 3Killowatt Photovoltaic system delivering electricity every day to the sound stage and studios at Big Song Entertainment where this movie was written, directed, filmed and produced!

5.0 out of 5 stars Greg Rank is like a bald shaved Jesus March 12, 2010
Format:Amazon Instant Video
Visionary auteur Greg Leopold Rank (Thunderboy, When the Doggies Howl, et al) enchants us yet again with his bold vision of the future: space future. Move over, blue cat people; get the gout, Stephen Spielberg - Greg Percival Rank is the Jew-like director from outside da 405 everyone is talking about. America, testify!

"Mr. Rank noticed my acting abilities at a young age, and now he's putting me through theater school. Thanks, dad!" - Spencer Rank

"Greg introduced me to family friend Sam Horn a year ago, and now we make love, like, every day. Great movie!" - Sam's girlfriend from Canada

"Elliot's War? More like Elliot's BORE" - George W. Bush

"Like Babe: Pig in the City had a lovechild with Ernest Saves Christmas and Aliens: Special Edition was the midwife" - Zombie Gene Siskel

Run, don't walk, to the edge of your seat - because your two thumbs won't need the whole thing! $1.99 - that's less than a quart of Listerine and two Trojans! Presto!

This movie is funny, different, edgy, crazy, unusual, fantastic, supernatural and full of surprises. I laughed uncontrollably many times and would recommend it to anyone who needs a good laugh and wants to have fun. Greg Rank is a creative genius.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gonzo Masterpiece May 27, 2010
Format:Amazon Instant Video|Verified Purchase
One of the wildest and strangest things I've seen in a long time, and laugh-out-loud funny! Like what Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters might have produced if briefly lucid and in possession of desktop video technology.
