They're an excellent replacement for sloppy old glue bottles, and very handy to have around your office and desk. The glue dries quickly, makes no mess--and because each glue stick contains 0.88 oz. (25 grams), they last a very very long time.
If you use glue, try some. A box of glue sticks is far preferable to buying one at a time. Buy from Amazon directly, moreover, and you can avoid shipping costs all together with any order over $25. Now that's what I call a good deal---sticky, and worth it.
This was slightly cheaper than trying to buy a gallon of white glue (which is what I should have done), but... how can I explain this... If you've ever used Chapstick or lipstick then you know that you wind it up, use it, then wind it back down into the case, with this glue I'd wind it up, use it, and end up using ALL I had wound out and in just one application. In other words, it took a lot of this stuff to accomplish each task I set out and in the end I'd use up two whole tubes for each medium sized art project.
Don't get me wrong. It holds very well. I built a very sturdy, 4 tier, L-shaped DVD tower out of the many boxes I seem to have accumulated since signing up for Amazon Prime (heh, recycle, reduce, reuse, I take it to heart). However, I will definitely run through this case in a matter of months, whereas the gallon of white glue would have probably made it well into the next year.
I tried it on different weights of paper, and it wouldn't even stick a piece of newspaper to another. Everything just breaks apart.
Now, whether or not this was just a bad batch, who knows? But, I will not be buying this product again. I have gone through 4 sticks, and not one of them was useful.

1 star deducted because 2 glue sticks in the packs arrived disconnected and could not be rolled up/down.

I bought Elmer's extra strength glue sticks to use on craft projects. I have tried other glue sticks and the glue would stop working after it had dried. These sticks are amazing. Read morePublished 17 months ago by Deepthinker
I'm giving it 5 stars mainly for the price. With 2 school aged kids we need several glue sticks. Teachers prefer Elmer's and these cost a fraction of what you would pay at a store. Read morePublished 18 months ago by Anna S.
