No Good,
By mommy of 2 (Illinois) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Elmo Trike (Sports)
We gave me daughter this bike for her second birthday and she loved that it was Elmo. That is the only reason I gave this bike one star. If I could give it zero I would.
Cons: First off when she got the bike she was unable to pedal it herself. As another poster said it sits pretty high. So, she wasn't able to use the bike till closer to two and a half. Second, the music is so loud and annoying. I have two kids and normally can tune most things out but this is impossible. I finally just had to take the batteries out since there is no volume control. Third, this thing tips easily. It is not sturdy at all. Fourth, after only a few months of use this thing it squeaks horribly! Not to mention one of the pedals continues to fall off. Fifth, I loved the idea of the handle to help steer while this kids are younger. That is actually one of the features that drew me to this bike. Unfortunately, the handle has so much give you really have no control at all. Overall, I am very unhappy with this bike. Kids love it because it is Elmo but really that is the only positive to this bike. If I were you save your money and keep looking.

My son loves this tricycle. Hes got it for Christmas when he was 14 months old, and I cant seem to keep him off of it and he is now 18 months old. He loves the music it plays. It was a little hard to put it together, but it is really well built and couldnt ask for a better bike for him.

I completely agree with the review from "mommy of 2". I wish she had posted that before I bought this piece of garbage. I wish I had bought Fisher-Price Rock, Roll 'N Ride Trike instead.
I bought this for my daughter's 2nd birthday one month ago. She, and all the other 2 year olds at her birthday party loved it. Other parents said that they wanted to get one for their 2 year old. But there is no volume control or off button for the annoying music. Only 2 song choices, depending on if you hit the right arrow or the left, and one song is very long. The music got annoying very quickly. After a few days of this tricycle sitting in our living room with 2 toddlers playing on it. We noticed that it tipped very easily. So on top of the annoying music, now we had crying toddlers. Then yesterday, I took it outside for the first time. I put my daughter on it and pushed her 2 blocks down the street to the baby-sitter's house. I thought she would enjoy the ride. Well... she did for most of the ride. But it squeaked loudly the duration of the trip. It almost tipped over while I pushed it with the long handle several times. And I couldn't steer the bike with the handle. I had to bend over repeatedly to grab the handlebars to steer it, which defeated the purpose of buying a trike with a long handle for parents. The worse part was that there isn't a place for her to set her feet except on the pedals which she can't really reach. So when I stopped the trike, the pedals smacked her in the foot, and she got hurt several times. When I got home, I threw it in the garage. It's also a pain to assemble, and I usually enjoy assembling complicated things. Don't waste your money on this junk. I would give it 0 stars if possible.

My son has not gotten this trike yet, but we put it together to make sure all the parts were there, it is a cute trike but it looks like it was put togehter cheap. The welds look like they were done by a drunk, and the same for the wheels. The wheels are hard plastic, which im fine with, but the wheels were not put on straight and as they turn you can see where they are not properly put on. For the price I paided I'm not too upset, but I would not pay the same price for it again.

We were so disappointed. Online, it looks so cute, and my daughter LOVES Elmo, so we thought this would be a perfect gift for her 2nd birthday. My husband went to put it together, and saw that the entire frame was bent, and also the welding was poorly done and would not last. We sent it back and got higher quality brand.

I purchased this for my grandson-he was 20 months old at the time- for a Christmas gift. He loves Elmo and it was a cute trike. That was really the only good thing I can say about this item. It is extremely poorly constructed and very tippy. The post from the seat to the base between the back wheels was welded on and very quickly broke. Since it was a weld there were no bolts/screws which could be tightened to repair it. My Son-in-law tried putting some metal screws there but it did not help. The handle in the back is totally useless for pushing the trike. If he got two months use of this trike that would probably be a high estimate. It is a shame that an item like this can even be sold.

Well like the title clearly states, it's difficult for a child not to like this. The trike is pretty nice and easy to setup given you have enough room to work with, it's pretty well built.
My only complain is that when you assemble the seat you can't use the first two screw hole to attach the seat to the body of the trike, thus if you're kid is still a little too small (even though the specs say it's for 1 to 4 year olds)or has short legs, you won't be able to screw the seat at the frontmost position, only the middle and farthest position from the pedals. When you try to use the frontmost screwholes the curve of the body of the trike forces the seat to lift a little so the screws end up to short and don't go all the way through. I know this can be easily fixed by getting some longer screws, but that would be good to know before hand not Christmas day in the morning when you're setting it up and your kid's eager to start using it. Or maybe I'm the one to blame for not setting it up before Christmas....

I thought that this product would only last a little while but it is great. The handle has held up, i thought that would be the first to go. The only thing I do not like about it is that "singing" Elmo gets REALLY annoying after the 200th time. But my daughter loves it. Just be ready to push often! :)
Easy assembly too!

This was an amazing gift for my nephew! He loved it... just be careful of the annoying song that plays every time the tricycle moves.
