About the Author
Steve Franz has written liner notes for Relic Records and Rhino Records, has contributed to Living Blues magazine, and formerly hosted two blues radio shows on WEVL FM 90, in Memphis. An article that Franz wrote on guitarist Magic Sam can currently be found in Jas Obrecht’s Rollin’ and Tumblin’: The Postwar Blues Guitarists (Miller Freeman). See the April 2002 issue of Blues & Rhythm magazine for an excerpt from Franz's forthcoming Elmore James biography, The Amazing Secret History of Elmore James.

This is a sweet addition to anyone interested in Blues history and the King of the slide. It sums up so much info and puts it all in one concise booklet. As an avid collector of every Elmore James track ever released this was a great way to sum up a lot of pieces and research into one quick to read source. For an even better and more in depth biography of Elmore James read Steve Franz's paperback which includes a lot more detail and history if you're interested!! Good stuff!!
