Elmo's blanket needs washing. Elmo waits while his blanket goes through the washer, then the dryer, and finally comes back to his arms. Dipping the book in and out of water makes bubble drawings appear and disappear in this very colorful tale.

Didn't interest my grandson,
By First Time Grandma (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Elmo's Wash & Dry (Magic Bath Books) (Bath Book)
This book was a disappointment to me. It just does not hold my grandson's interest. He is a year old, maybe the child needs to be a little older to really appreciate this book. The problem to me is the lack of color, it is rather bland. I guess it has to be this way so that the water can bring out the color in the pictures. However, there are very few items in the book that change color and they all change to blue. My grandson never even noticed the color change, it is just too little and too subdued. A small child needs something more colorful and more noticeable.

Just in time,

This book helped my daughter let go of her favorite rag doll long enough for me to wash it. She didn't want me to put in the washing machine, but with the help of this book she learned that she would get it back.

If your child loves Elmo, then buy this book! My grandson learned to say Elmo before he learned to say grandma or mamma. And the plastic bath books hold up pretty good to his rough handling. He has only managed to open one page of one of his bath books (which I fixed with an old seal-a-meal food saver). He tears up or chews on paper or cardboard books. Besides the Wheel of Fortune TV Show and Public TV this makes him want to read and learn more. I would recommend buying a handfull of these books for any child not quite ready for paper books!
