This review is from: Eloise's Mother's Day Surprise (Eloise Ready-to-Read) (Paperback)
I purchased several books about mother's day and I won't even put this in my classroom. I hardly ever write reviews but I needed to for this one. The whole book is about a shopping spree for the mother. It's all about consumerism which makes it completely shallow. They use name brands like Godiva in the book (nice that they have product placement in a book for kids!) Each time she goes to another fifth avenue store she says, "Mom needs the BEST BEST BEST!" The book ends with the shopping spree ending- the mother doesn't even appear in the book at all! The whole book is just about buy over priced items- not a good message about mother's day at all.
