More About the Author

As an avid snowboarder from Utah, Ben grew up with a passion for learning. This thirst for knowledge led him to sports, music, and academic endeavors. After a year of college, he did volunteer work in Brazil and became fluent in three languages. Returning to school, he started and ran several successful businesses, and finished his first novel in 2008. By 2010 he'd finished his third and began preparing them to publish. Discovering Indie publishing in early 2012, he uploaded a trio of books to Amazon in June, October, and December. By the end of the year he'd sold ten thousand copies and all three had landed onto bestseller lists. His YA fantasy series, The Chronicles of Lumineia, has garnered excellent reviews and continues to expand its readership across all ages. I really enjoyed this story. At first I was concerned about the level of writing, being an electronic book under 4.99, but was quickly absorbed into this tale. I'm a huge fan of hack n' slash fantasy novels and while remaining clean of overly gory imagery, Elseerian delivers. The combat scenes are perfectly detailed, not creating confusion between geography and maneuverability. I especially enjoy main characters with social disadvantages, not all characters are rolled with charisma! One other thing that really does it for me in books, tying ideas from well known sources into something completely new and innovative. Good job!

Only real flaw is that at times you notice typos, or words may have been edited and accidentally cut out so you have to use logic to complete a sentence or too. Enough of these mistakes exist to comment on, but not nearly enough to discourage the full enjoyment of the story!

If I had seen this book on the shelf at a store I would not have given it a second glance. The cover artwork looks kind of like a child's book. The inside of the book however is maybe one of best books I have read! The characters are amazing, the locations are awesome, and the story ties it all together. The lead character is a young man with amazing abilities to fight but an aversion to killing any being that may have the possibility of "Good" in it. His training in the arts of war are complete so he and his friends set out to find out about his family who died getting him to the island to learn about fighting when he was a baby. I hate a book that introduces 25 characters with no history or back-story so you have no ties to them. This book lets you get to know all the characters so when they make the ultimate sacrifice you feel the loss. And as a Spoiler Alert there will be alot of ultimate sacrifices to come in the next 2 books. I know the Author reads these reviews so keep up the good work and I hope to see more from you soon.

When I first purchased this book I started reading it during my lunchtime at work. Before I knew it, lunch time had passed.....and I rarely miss a meal. I especially enjoyed the way the characters are woven into the storyline and I find myself relating to different aspects of several characters. The author knows how to reveal just enough without giving too much away all at once. The descriptions of the locations in the stories are intricate and the fight scenes are amazing. You can tell that the author put a lot of thought into the action scenes and I found myself envisioning the fighting style of the main character and his companions. I have read all three books and highly recommend the entire series.

I usually stick with self help & business books. A dorkey friend of mine wouldn't shut up about it one day, so I decided to buy it.
I quickly got absorbed into the book. What a difference Taryn was in the book: dis-liked killing, tries to see good in others and definitely slow on noticing the ladies. (like really slow. Lol)
This was not only a good book this is a GOOD book. Clean, fresh and continually exciting. I had a great experience reading this book. When my kids attention span last longer than 15 seconds this will be a family memory.

A well balanced book with a fast story line. The characters are well fleshed out and mesh together. Some might find the characters a little shallow, but I believe that further development would detract from the pace. Overall a very good read.
