A terrific concert.,

This review is from: Elton John - Live: World Tour 1992 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Elton John is my favorite artist and if you're a fan of his, then you should definitely add this to your collection. Elton gives a brilliant 2-hour show in Barcelona, Spain to thousands of screaming fans. He performs many of his hits including: Daniel, Philadelphia Freedom, Tiny Dancer, The One, Sacrifice, and I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues. My favorite was The Last Song in which Elton gives a riveting performance. Buy this and you won't be disappointed. By the way, Elton's friend, the late-great Gianni Versace designed the costumes and lighting!

A Great Concert...,

This review is from: Elton John - Live: World Tour 1992 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I have seen this concert many times and feel that it is wonderful. Some of the songs that he does are awesome. He also seems to be very into what he's doing, in playing the piano. Any Elton John fan would love this video. It's sort of showing signs that he's aging, but who cares...it's Elton! And hey what can I say, Mona Lisa's and Mad Hatters Part 2...he kicks his bench back and is wailing on the piano! The man's one of the hardest working performers and this video definately proves that!

Elton shows his mastery - at performing, at piano playing, and at songwriting. Great blend of old and new - with great extended versions of Mona Lisa's and Madhatters (parts I and II), and interestingly enough Sad Songs.

Excellent Job for Elton, Bad For the Technicians,

This review is from: Elton John - Live: World Tour 1992 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Elton in Barcalona that night gave a powerhouse performance. From Im Still Standing, to Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding, Simple Life, Burn Down the Mission, and big rocker of the night Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters Parts I & II. To the touching ending of Song For Guy/Your Song. Elton made the night. The Stage Crew and the Whole lighting crew did a crappy job as well. Elton looks blurry throughout the whole concert and the sound quality is horrible. I would recomend this to any Elton fan though because he gave it his all. I was only dissapointed by the fact that neither Bennie and the Jets, nor Take Me to the Pilot was on the list. Basically Elton Good, Crew Bad

Elton Video is a big blur,

This review is from: Elton John - Live: World Tour 1992 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video is a complete disappointment for Elton. The video is shot in an open stadium where the acoustics are horrible and the lighting is too strong. Too many bugs are flying around and Elton's hairpiece looks like it's blowing off his head. Older concerts should be released where his voice was better and where he could hit the high notes. I suggest that The Elton John Central Park concert be viewed instead.

The sound quality is disappointing but Elton John puts on a masterful show to a very happy audience. All the hit songs are done beautifully and the backup band and effects are great! This concert video is worth your time and money!

I enjoyed this performance by Elton John in Barcelona. It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. It is sad that it was not released on CD, or DVD. It showcases 21 of Elton's songs, with an cover of Queen's song The Show Must Go On, in dedication to Freddy Mercury who passed away in 1991. I thought it was great, and it features some lovely songs, like Blue Avenue, Sacrifice, and Your Song. I loved this video. It was an blast.

High Energy Performance,

This is an enjoyable video which captures as much as a video can, the magic of an Elton John show. This performance takes place towards the end of his world tour. Staging, lighting, and band are of the highest level. P.S. The late Gianne Versace deisgned lighting and sets. Luckily this was Elton's last tour where he plays an electric keyboard facing the audience. Many Elton classics are covered, Daniel, Bitch Is Back, Candle In The Wind, Your Song...with a playlist like this, how can you go wrong.
