4.0 out of 5 stars Great writing but....
All in all I was really happy with this trilogy. The characters really drew me in and I enjoyed the plot line, even though it was a bit predictable at times.

However, the thing that kept me from giving it a full five stars was...they need to get their money back from whoever was the editor on these books. I have never seen so many blatant typos and grammar...

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit on the DRY side
I was rather disappointed with these titles.
the fight scenes where simple and unimaginative
the characters are somewhat shallow
the ending is unclear
but as an elvish epic story it was best then most

All in all I was really happy with this trilogy. The characters really drew me in and I enjoyed the plot line, even though it was a bit predictable at times.

However, the thing that kept me from giving it a full five stars was...they need to get their money back from whoever was the editor on these books. I have never seen so many blatant typos and grammar errors in a book before. 'Now' being written as 'vow', dialogue missing quotation marks, words being duplicated (such as "I I wanted to.." ). It's not enough to detract from the overall enjoyment of the book, but it might bother some people who get annoyed at little mistakes like that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great But Could Be Edited, March 25, 2007
This review is from: The Elven Nations Trilogy (Mass Market Paperback)
This series was awesome! I loved reading it! Only problem that made it kind of hard to read was that the editor did a HORRIBLE job! There's about a typo on every page, if you average out the good pages with the ones with three to five mistakes. My advice is, if you're hinking about buying it, is to see if you can get it from a different publisher. However, the story itself is wonderful, full of action, and an altogether great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Elven triglogy series, February 17, 2008

These set of books are a great edition to the dragonlance series. I would definitely recommend these books to anyone who reads dragonlance and hasnt read them yet. These books take place before the first chronicals. This series develops the story of how the elven nations split and some what about the animosity that lies as a buffer between these two nations. Each book is a great story each one was hard to put down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another piece of the Dragon Lance puzzle, October 20, 2007

"The Elven Nations Trilogy" paints an enjoyable picture of an aspect of the Dragonlance world. The authors do a good job of filling in a gap by explaining the attitudes of the Elves, their society and relationship with other races. However, I found that the character development was thin and unsatisfying. There are characters that lack depth; making it difficult to relate to their lives and challenges. It is unfortunate that these are or should be main characters.

I agree with the other reviewer that the editing is terrible; using spell check doesn't work with manuscripts.

Overall, I did enjoy the books even with the thin underdeveloped characters. I would recommend to anyone who is a Dragonlance enthusiast to read this trilogy.

This was a very solid series on the elven nations. Its sad that it's now out of print. But I find this series very entertaining and I'm very glad my friend told me to pick it up.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite books, November 2, 2005
This review is from: The Elven Nations Trilogy (Mass Market Paperback)
The first 2 books are incredible. I think they're more likely to appeal to a broader audience than the Chronicles because the D&D references are more mild. I love the Chronicles, but the Elven Nations Trilogy is less "geeky" I think. So they're more likely to appeal to your friends and relatives who giggle when they hear the word "fireball".

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Fatasy, January 3, 2007

I loved these books as a kid. As an adult reading them again the plot holes seem a little larger, but I still enjoyed reading them again.
