5.0 out of 5 stars Monster Hits a real trick and treat!, February 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Elvira's Monster Hits (Audio CD)
Elvira's third compilation CD has a variety of styles of music each with a demented Halloween theme. The CD contains hits of passed Halloweens while The Mistress of the Dark herself adds two original tracks. Monsta Rap is a hip-hop ride throught the monsters of our day, and Here Comes the Bride, offers a rock and roll haunted wedding. An outstanding CD which you'll enjoy all year round!

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Halloween listening!!!, May 14, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Elvira's Monster Hits (Audio CD)
This collection will surely get you excited about Halloween. Great for your parties, dances, trick-or-treaters, or even just to listen in the car.

The CD's single greatest moment is on "Monsta Rap", when ELVIRA does a parody of MADONNA's "Vogue" that will surely make you "die" laughing!

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD was worth every drop......., February 18, 2004
This review is from: Elvira's Monster Hits (Audio CD)
That's right, drop. If the following is not true, may I fall down dead now. I was in Jacksonville, North Carolina (home of Camp Lejeune). I was on Western Blvd at the NABI Plasma Donation Center. See I used to donate Plasma regularly, twice a week. I made an average of about $78.00 a month doing it. As a side note, I once let them inject me with rabies so they could use my Plasma as a vaccine.

But anyway after one particular day I received my money and headed to the Jacksonville Mall. I had nothing to do but walk around. I ended up going to the music store and saw this CD. I bought it with my blood money.

All that being said, this CD comes out every Halloween, it's a tradition in my home, much like Bob Rivers at Christmas. The highpoint of this album is Elvira's own 'Monster Rap'. (Everybody Groooooove, everybody clap!). She raps about every monster you could imagine at the time of release (Freedy Kruger gives good glove!) I was very happy that she made reference to my favorite monster of all time, Jason Voorhees.

Also included is the original 'Monster Mash'. And though we get Alice Cooper's 'Feed my Frankenstein', I always believed his 'Teenage Frankenstein' was a superior song. There's a weird little Frank Sinatra type song dealing with the Addams Family, and who could forget the original 'Little Demon' by Screamin Jay?

Also Elvira sings another song called 'Here comes the Bride' it's about Frankenstein's wedding of course. Elvira can sing and she could have rivaled Streisand if she wanted too, but thank God Cassandra prefers the burlesque of her Elvira character. The intro and outro are very tongue in cheek (I said HITS!)

The only bad thing I can say about this CD is Will Smith's Nightmare on My Street'. I always skip it because Will sucks and so do his songs and movies.

Plus the cover is super sexy.
