The first CD is the outstanding Elvis 30 Number 1 hits CD. It actually includes 31 songs (including the "A Little Less Conversation" remix) that hit number 1 in the US and/or UK. It remains the best single CD overview of Elvis' career and is a must for rock and pop music fans.

What makes this release different is the bonus CD that includes rehersal recordings, alternate takes, and the extended version of "A Little Less Conversation", which is very good. Most of those tracks are not that remarkable. The "Burning Love" take is interesting. It is an early take and it is obvious that it was still a work in progress, but the guitar gives a different sound. The "Way Down" alternate take is very good and I actually like it better than the final release version.

All-in-all, this edition is for hardcore Elvis fans. Casual fans would probably be more satisfied with the single CD release in addition to saving a few bucks.

This is a great version of the wonderful 30 #1 Hits album of Elvis and the bonus disc is a real plus as we get to hear the King on the outtakes and he even speaks! Not forgetting the extended version of the monster hit "Little Less Conversation." I'm amazed at how great all the tracks on disc one still sound all these years later and with the great mastering job that BMG have done, the tracks still sound like they were released today. One beef I have with this album though is that the bass is quite heavy and tends to overpower everything else on some of the tracks. Otherwise, the hardboard packaging that opens up just like a book has great liner notes and trivia on each track. Recommended.

This disk is a great album with very nice recordings of all its songs. It's also the only album I could find that had the "A Little Less Conversation" remix. I'd have liked the original version to be on their also, rather than two remixes since it's a hard song to find on an album.
