Absolutely essential!, November 28, 1999
This review is from: Elvis '56: In the Beginning (An Intimate, Eyewitness Photo-Journal) (Paperback)
This is one of the best photo-books I have ever read and I'll tell you why! First, the book contains lots of never before published photo's and they are from a very high quality. We can see Elvis on stage and off stage (e.g. with his family). Second, the story Mr. Wertheimer has written is accurate and special, because he witnessed Elvis' early days himself and was one of a select group to be able to talk to Elvis in private and hear his opinions about his career. Third the book has a really beautiful lay-out and so I can only recommend this book to, not only all the Elvis-fans around the world, but to all people interested in the beginning of pop-culture!
