4.0 out of 5 stars ELVIS incomplete
Anything that deals with the KING is worthwhile as long as the info contained therein is correct. I didn't notice any mistakes on first viewing. Only problem is that the period from his return from the Army, in 1960, and his wedding, in 1967, is glossed over. Anything that deals with the KING is worthwhile as long as the info contained therein is correct. I didn't notice any mistakes on first viewing. Only problem is that the period from his return from the Army, in 1960, and his wedding, in 1967, is glossed over. It would have been a more impressive package if it had gone into some discussion of the films ELVIS did from 1960 to 1964, before the Colonel started putting him in inferior remakes of the movies he had already done. ELVIS demonstrated genuine acting ability in "Flaming Star" and " Wild In THe Country", and showed a flair for comedy in "Follow That Dream". Also would have been better if reference was made to the films that ELVIS was offered, and the Colonel (probably) turned down: "Sweet Bird of Youth", "Midnight Cowboy", and "A Star Is Born" to name a few.
