Book Description

March 1985
There have been many books about Elvis -- by family, friends and professional writers, but none have presented the real picture of the man, his music, and the phenomenon, until now. No other book answered the most significant questions about Elvis: what caused and still causes the fa-naticims that Elvis enjoys? what were the man, and the phenomenon really about? This book answers these questions by analysing the unique but complex relationship between Elvis' music, his stage performances and his personality.

1.0 out of 5 stars In my 63 years of life, May 30, 2009

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Elvis: Prophet of Power (Paperback)
This is the single worst book I have ever read.

The premise is absurd. The "facts" are incorrect. Mr Roy can't even keep track of what song was on what album.

The writing simply defies description. Example: using the word "movement" 29 times in a single paragraph. There are sentences that go on for pages. There is no logic, no coherent thought anywhere in the book.

The fact that it's still in print is simply appalling.
