Great Hoogly Boogly!,

This country would be a lot better off if we were all living in MojoWorld. Failing that, we can rejoice that Mojo has come out of musical retirement after 5 years to deliver another, ahh, meditation (Whiskey Rebellion) on planetary ills...and how to relieve them! The free downloads from weeks past do not constitute his entire catalog (as some have said) but they are a generous enough sampling to give any curious souls and intrepid spirits an idea of why Mojo is so revolutionary on the music scene. He can go from Dylanesque balladeer to acid hillbilly to Texas surf music to dead-black-bluesmen tribute in 30 seconds flat. That tunes like "Bodies Parking Lot", "I Hate Banks", "Gonna Dig Up Howlin' Wolf", "Gin Guzzlin' Frenzy" and "Wide Open" sprung from the same feverish imagination is proof enough of Mojo's brilliance. He's beyond category. If there's still room for one Mojo Nixon in America, there may be hope for us yet.

I downloaded this because it was free and I had never even heard of the artist...his whole library was free. After listening to this track, I decided not to waist time downloading the rest of the free music he has...it's just not for me.I still have to give this artist credit for giving the world a free gift (otherwise the rating would be just 1 star), I am sure there are plenty of people who enjoy this music and apreciate it very much; and I wish him all the best of luck so long as he keeps fighting RIAA. |
