5.0 out of 5 stars Groovy Man !, January 23, 2000

This review is from: Elysian Field (Audio CD)
Elysian Field kicks just as hard today as it did in the 1960's. The ledgendary band takes you thru the whole history of their band and shows how they evolved from Soul Inc. Don't worry this is worth the money.....

4.0 out of 5 stars Elysian Field Classic Album, June 8, 2008

Elysian Field
I am in the process of collecting music performed by my cousin, Ronn (sometimes spelled Ron) Bedenbaugh. He passed away young, and is one of the four deceased people that this album is dedicated to.
Although not a full-time member of the group, he is credited with performing keyboard and arranging accompaniments on at least four of the songs.
The album contains some very good songs from 1968-1971 era. This has got to be an album with great memories for people from the Louisville, KY area that were able to see this band live.
I am proud to say that my favorites are the songs in which Ron is credited with being a part of. Orchestral background added a great depth to the fine music that this band created and performed. Below is a quote from a review of the album.

Paradise Found
Lost recordings by Elysian Field released on CD
By Rick Mattingly
"The new trio wasted no time going to Memphis to record two tunes: "Kind of Man," written by Settle and Bugbee, and "Alone on Your Doorstep," written by Bugbee. They brought the tapes back to Louisville's Allen-Martin studios where Louisville Orchestra musicians added sophisticated accompaniments inspired by Jimmy Webb and orchestrated by Louisville keyboardist and arranger Ron Bedenbaugh."

5.0 out of 5 stars Elysian Field rides again!, January 16, 2000
This review is from: Elysian Field (Audio CD)
Another killer release from the boys from Louisville, KY... a lot harder-edged and even punk-like rock and roll from the early 70's... ahead of their time... If you like Soul, Inc., you'll LOVE Elysian Field... it's Maxwell, Settle and Bugbee at their best!
