Worth the 15 Bucks, January 11, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Email Games: Scrabble (CD-ROM)
This game is great for those who have a slow day at work. It can be a little slow, and the Hasbro server loses a game in cyber space occasionally, but over all it is pretty good. The biggest draw back is that it can only be played with 2 people and once word gets out you have this game everyone wants to play.

ADDICTING!, January 11, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Email Games: Scrabble (CD-ROM)
This game is truly addicting! I have sent games to my brothers, sisters and online friends. I really like that it has an area to send a message with your game board. This is the ultimate way to play an online game because you can respond to the games when it's convenient for you. (And you can use the online dictionary and no one will know.)

SCRABBLE ACROSS DISTANCES, April 29, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Email Games: Scrabble (CD-ROM)
My mom is not one for computer games but loves Scrabble. Since I live so far away, I bought this for her to try. (She has won every game!) Besides the actual games, we write each other little notes at the end of our turn. Now, she plays with several of her friends from across the country and even in her home town. It was easy for her to setup and the computer keeps track of scores, challenges and even shuffling your tiles.

Disappointing Quality and Support, but Scrabble's Good, February 6, 2000
This review is from: Email Games: Scrabble (CD-ROM)
The game is slow and the interface is clunky. The game also fails to notify the player who makes the last play what the final score of the game was. When they recently released a new addition of the software they failed to fix this major bug, and didn't add any features that added value to the game. All the Scrabble game play features are there though, and it can be a good way to keep in touch with old friends. I give the general Scrabble game four stars and the interface two stars, for an average rating of three.

I'm addicted!, April 30, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Email Games: Scrabble (CD-ROM)
I absolutely love this game! I enjoy playing regular scrabble with my family whenever we get together but since we live all over the country we all play email scrabble with each other. I love being able to write an email at the end - even if just a sentence or multiple paragraphs depending on my news for the day. I love getting online to check if I have any plays. Therefore, I am devastated that Infogrames, who bought out Hasbro has elected to discontinue the game on May 1st by not supporting the server!!!! I would be willing to pay a small monthly fee to support the server if they would find another one. I emailed Infogrames but have not received any response. Anybody else concerned?

Great game, too bad it no longer can work (please read on), January 3, 2007

The servers that supported this game are shut down and the game will not function without them. Sad.

Game was fun- don't expect any support, March 1, 2001
This review is from: Email Games: Scrabble (CD-ROM)
Despite the fun I had with this game, the support has been so awful that they lost almost all of the stars. I downloaded the game and they never sent me a cd rom. Since then I have lost the game to a computer virus. I have e-mailed to enquire why I never received a cd. I sent that e-mail almost 2 months ago. I have since sent three more e-mails. I have still not heard from them-and at this point I really do not expect to. It seems to me that the money I spent is as good as gone. Be warned! If you ever need support I can pretty much guarantee you will not get- and if you do, I would appreciate knowing your secret.

Excellent game, awful implementation and support, April 27, 2001
This review is from: Email Games: Scrabble (CD-ROM)
I am a huge Scrabble addict and play this game non-stop, but that is only because I love the game itself, and not the way they put this together. There are all sorts of bugs with the way it plays, and there is no chance of ever getting support from anybody. Their call-in phone support gives you an automated robotic voice which is almost impossible to understand. No humans anywhere. Also, be warned, gameplayers are currently getting this message when they play: ---------------------- Hasbro Interactive em@il games We hope you have enjoyed the Em@il games series and we appreciate your patronage of Infogrames products, but we regret to inform you that as of May 1, 2001 Infogrames Interactive will no longer maintain the server that exchanges turns for the Em@il series of games. Please ensure that all in-progress games are completed by that date to avoid interrupted games. (Please refer to the software licensing agreement that came with your Em@il games for details on service duration questions.) ------------------------ So the game might not even work for you. Check on this before buying.

Wish it had lasted forever, September 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Email Games: Scrabble (CD-ROM)
My sisters and I loved this game, right up until they discontinued the server that passed our games back and forth. Now we can't play anymore and we sure do miss it. We are in four different states and we used to be able to keep in touch daily. After you take your turn you can add a message and it feels like you aren't very far away at all! It used to be so much fun to check my email and see how many Scrabble turns I had waiting. One sister and I always had several games going at once!
