I was a bit skeptical about this and have seen some poor reviews, especially about freezing, touch screen problems, durability etc.

After recieving it I must say this product does everything it promises. The Pics are snapshot quality which is fine. The video playback was surprisingly good. No problems with the touchscreen. plays music and FM fine, quality is good with headphones, onboard speaker is just what it is.

I did tell my daughter that she should treat this delicately so that it would last. there is a lot crammed into it and that means small boards and small delicate parts. If you or your child can take care of things I recommend it.

1 caveat, I didn't get a chance to use the software that came with it to convert video because my windows program told me it was not confirmed compatable with my system and would require changing some system settings at risk. I opted not to use it . It's not worth the risk and there are plenty of online converters, some free, some trial, that work well with this. ( The one I got as a trial puts a watermark on the vid except in FLV which is what I encoded Finding Nemo in, It looks awesome!

I have mixed thoughts on this product. I bought it for my 5 year old to use because she loves gadgets, photos, music and movies. She learned to use it very quickly and relatively well.

The player itself is very lightweight. That is good for carrying but also scares me for durability.

The touchscreen is fairly responsive--I would say it needs a medium pressure from the stylus or finger to choose items.

The screen is not as clear as I had expected for a small device like this, but it is also decent. Cartoons and movies look pretty well.

The photos taken are snapshot-quality. Decent for a kid. Surprisingly, they actually look better once uploaded to my computer than they do on the screen.

The sound is decent, the external speaker fairly loud for the little size.

The menus are so-so. They are what I expect from such a basic, low-cost, do-all product. A bit too deep at times, are not uniform when using one feature versus another, etc.

My biggest problem is one that seems to definitely be part of the product line--the headphone jack. Within days of getting this item, the external speaker would not turn off when the headphones were inserted. Amazon was great and shipped a replacement quickly. Alas, I tried the headphone jack immediately and it worked 2 times! Literally! It had the same problem in less than about 2 minutes! Apparently, other customers have had this same issue. After playing with this, I have come to realize that putting slight pressure on the sides of the case near the jack solves the problem for a moment--it seems that there is a bad contact somewhere in the internal design.

I don't have a final view on this product.

I bought this mp3 player for my daughter. It worked great for about a week and then the jack for the headphones wouldn't work correctly. She hooks in the headphones and the music will come out the headphones and the speakers. She has had other mp3 players that have lasted years and some didn't cost as much as this one. In fact, they still work she just wanted a newer up-to-date one. This was a big disappointment.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas as an alternative to the apple ipod. She was happy with it on Christmas even though it was completely made of plastic, but 3 days after Christmas it broke. The music started playing out of both the headphones and the speaker. Do not waste your money.

I have to teen daughters & bought them each one in different colors for Christmas. I bought one from Amazon & one from Walmart.com & they are crappy! The one I bought on Amazon won't keep a charge. We charged it for 30 hours & when unplugged, it kept the charge for about 14 minutes. Charged it again & again for about 15 hours & it wouldn't even fully charge. The one we bought off of Walmart.com keeps having the screen freeze...terrible product.

After playing with it for only a couple of hours the headphone jack became defective. Just like the previous review, sound now comes out of the headphones and the device speaker at the same time. I'm a bit worried other things will go wrong with it so we will be sending it back for a refund.

I bought this as a birthday present for my daughter's 14th birthday. I read all of the reviews but decided they can't all be this way, can they? Well YES they can. Not 24 hours after receiving the 1st one it broke, the music would no longer play thru the headphones. If the headphones do not work you can NOT playthe fm radio. We contacted them & received a new one VERY fast however the same problem occured. The headphone jack on the device it defective. I am very disapointed that they would even sell a product that they clearly know will break within 24 hrs. I feem scamed & even worse I chose not to heed the prior warnings.

My parents bought my 14 year old daughter one of the 8g units. It kept getting hot while charging overnight. Two weeks ago, it was so hot, she couldn't hold it for more than a minute and decided NOT to take it with her to school. When she came home from school, she found it exactly where she left it, but with a crack on the inside screen from top to bottom. I called Ematic. The customer service rep essentially told me that this was impossible, but I don't take no for an answer, so he put me on hold to talk to a technician. After about 5 minutes he came back on and told me that the tech said it was very possible. The rep gave me instructions and sent an email so that I could email them back with all our info and the receipt. After many communications back and forth, and deciding that they were stalling, I finally laid down the law.

They promised me they would replace my daughter's mp3 player, and after all the bs they put me through, they reply, "The issue with your mp3 player is not covered by our warranty. We do not cover cracked screens, but we can sell you another one for $35.00."

So, I told them I was going to let everyone know how they lie and sell not only crappy products, but dangerous as well. This mp3 player could've caused injury to my daughter, or worse, sparked a fire due to it's manufacturing defect of overheating.

I do not recommend this brand to anyone.
