Good product, but I know why it is so inexpensive...,

Another update:
I just couldn't resist coming back for another update. It's not paper thin leather that holds the clips under the decorative buckles... it's cheap stuff that looks like leather and falls apart very quickly. Worse, I was about to have it repaired or repair it myself, but noticed that the straps for the buckles themselves are also about to fall off. They are cracking from underneath... they're not leather either. This attache case is falsely advertised as "leather". I'm not picky about leather... I wouldn't care what it was if it just held together. I am gentle with it, all I do is open and close it once or twice each business day. There is no way that this attache case will last more than 3 months under any normal usage. --------- 3 month update: I was wrong, this is low quality. Paper thin leather on the buckles fell apart. Avoid this product. --------- It is relatively inexpensive, real leather, no frills attache case... pretty much exactly as described. I now know why it's inexpensive. If you use the shoulder strap, you will find that the connectors attach to the case a little low and somewhat off-center... towards your body. This makes the case kind of crumple and fall outwards. You can counterbalance it by making more use of the deep inside pocket with heavier stiffer things and limiting use of the more convenient outside pockets. This is not to complain, just to explain why it is so inexpensive. I'm keeping it and all in all, it is a fair deal... and actually a great deal if you don't want to use shoulder strap.

Great buy,

I've had this briefcase for about a month now. It's held up perfectly so far. The closure mechanisms are not buckles, but clips behind the buckles. It's been roomy enough to put a palm pilot, pens, and multiple files with papers. The leather looks great and it's very light. The shoulder strap is also comfortable. Assuming it contiues to hold up for a reasonable length of time, I'd buy this product again. One note: If you are looking to store a laptop in this briefcase, I'd think twice. It's not as large as most laptop briefcases and definately does not have adequate padding in my opinion. But for carrying documents, books and other items, it has met all my expectations.

Horrible.,
The item was damaged. It was advertised as though it was completely black leather. Turns out the backside was different color leather painted over. It rubbed off during shipment. Thank goodness I turned it over while showing it off. I was incredibly disappointed. They did reimburse me however, so I can give 5 stars for that fact alone.
Buyer Beware.

This is a very nice leather bag. It has two pockets in the front that the flap goes over. The pockets do not close and I have found that you can lose things out of those pockets even with the flap closed. That is the only problem I can see with this bag.

At first I was excited because I needed a bag for work and I figured leather would be sturdy and it was a great deal. When it arrived it had a smell but it wasn't "genuine leather". I was fine with that since the price was low and you get what you pay for. Then after about two weeks the leather that is attached to the clasp to close the bag came apart. I was really disappointed in that because the main reason I bought it was because I could carry it in my hand or on my shoulder. I've repaired it twice with crazy glue since I purchased it and its been less than a month. So disappointed but hey you get your monies worth. Cheap price equals cheap quality.

The attache case was in fine condition on arrival. There is one large pocket large enough for a laptop and another smaller pocket perfect for carrying papers or folders. Two small pockets are also present with room for pens/pencils/pda/etc. The front flap is closed with two clips (the straps are for show and serve no real purpose). A small zippered pocket is on the interior of the largest pocket. The bag certainly serves its purpose as a general carrying case for my laptop and papers and it is definitely worth the price.
My complaints are somewhat minor and coincide well with my pre-purchase expectations (considering the inexpensive nature of the bag). In order to be thorough I will mention some of these minor issues that you should be aware of: 1.) Carrying the bag with the handle instead of the over-the-shoulder strap requires the two clasps on the front being closed. This would not be an issue except I can foresee the clasps, which are a bit flimsy, breaking in the future. 2.) It would be nice to be able to close the small "pen pockets," which are open at the top. 3.) When flipped shut the corners of the largest pocket can be exposed. This means that the bag is not ideal for protecting documents/items during wet or snowy conditions. 4.) The interior nylon lining seems a bit thin. After having this bag for over a month there have been no rips or tears, but it seems prone to the possibility. My final opinion is that this bag is a good purchase, however, there are some problems which would probably be unacceptable if it were more costly.

Black Genuine Leather Messenger Briefcase Poor Quality,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This Briefcase was delivered in a very timely manner and I was pleased with the look and the multi compartments, however, I use this solely for a portfolio and work material that is light weight and within the first 2 weeks the poor quality buckles broke and now I'm left with a non closable briefcase that I have to have repaired. Not very satisfied.
