A Good Start for Embedded Systems,
By
This review is from: Embedded Microprocessor Systems Design: An Introduction Using the Intel 80C188EB (Hardcover)
Well explained! Starts from basics and advances step by step. Will not leave any questions on your head after you read it completely. Also a good book for Assembly. If you read this book twice, you can be teaching this course. :) I love it.

This book describes the microprocessor in a language which is so very simple and easy to understand. We have this book as a text book for the course in Microprocessors at the New York Institute of Technology. This was my primary reason to buy the book but once i began reading through it I found out that the language and the examples the author has used to describe the architecture and the working of the 188EB, is very uncomplicated and simple and reading the book is so much fun. For graduate students like me this book will definetely prove to be useful in understanding the subject of embedded microprocessors.

We use this book in the embedded systems design classes at the University of Wisconsin. I found it easy to read and had great example codes. There are some typos, and it doesn't cover everything, but it is a great beginner and reference book for the powerful 188EB chip.

Great Book!,

The author is actually one of my professors at The State University of New York at StonyBrook Basically Every chapter has to be read at least three times to get a good understanding. This doesn't mean that this is a bad book, it just means that reading about embedded systems for the first time might confuse you. This is an excellent book! It is taught by an excellent professor! I would recommend taking a course in wihich you could design and build your own embedded systems in addition to this book. This book will give anyone who grasps it, a good foundation in embedded systems design.
