If you enjoy reading fantasy books, don't read all of the reviews posted for this book. Just buy it and thank me later.

Stacey Rourke's second installment of the Gryphon Series, Embrace, is as well-written as the first. The writing style is very polished and well-balanced. The descriptive nature of the writing helps draw you into the story and allows you to visualize the setting and moment you are reading. Rourke's timely wit only aids to further grab your attention as you become immersed into the tale of Celeste and her siblings fighting the Dark Army while they struggle with the effects of supernatural powers bestowed upon them all while trying to develop a "normal" life.

The plot of the second book flows extremely well with the first book, The Conduit, and does not miss a beat. Very quickly you are as mentally involved with the characters as you were when you finished The Conduit. The story line successfully introduces new characters while further developing the ones you have read about previously.

One of the best parts of this book is the inclusion of plot twists and turns. You will not find yourself making assumptions about how things will happen later in the story only to read you were correct in later chapters. When you combine this aspect of the novel with the descriptive writing and quick wit, you find yourself visualizing yourself in the story and have the feelings you would if you were in the situations presented to the characters.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fantasy novel; age is not a barrier as young and old will enjoy it. It is refreshing to read about fresh new scenarios and not the same old vampires or werewolves running around.... I am sure after you read The Conduit and Embrace, you will be as excited for the next book as I am.

If you are on the fence about buying this book, do yourself a favor and just do it. You will wonder why you waited so long to do so. Read more ›

Let me start off by screaming ROURKE how could you! I really hope book 3 is coming out today. If not, after that ending I might feel compelled to throw eggs at your house. Just saying LOL! Stacey Rourke has yet again, spun another wonderful book. Between the sarcasm, humor, adventures in each chapter. You even have some purring going on. This book was certainly a page turner. I am sure that people thought I was a bit "loca" if you will. I would be quietly reading and all the sudden burst out laughing, eye rolling and/or snorting. Yes, I looked like a giant retard. The funny thing was I didn't even care. I was simply relishing in my read.

I am completely baffled when I come across books like this! There is no reason why, this book should not be in the hands of every YA, as well as OA. I myself literally enjoyed this story. I can not enumerate how many times, I have read reviews, that will offer one star to a book, not because it wasn't a great story, but the placement of a coma, spelling or etc.

Celeste, Gabe, and Kendall once again were awesome! Grams, is now the official cheerleader for the supernaturals. Now we have a completely yummy Caleb, in the mix!. Holy HOT plate. Caleb, I will not be able to elaborate on him, without ruining the story. I can say you will be utterly satisfied .We can talk about Rowan. I almost believe Rowan, will play a big part in future books. I foresee a love triangle get ready to transpire. I could be wrong, however I believe he will have a big role in the upcoming books! Stacey Rourke, has once again spun another great book.

I would like to add, this book is only $2.99 on amazon, which completely amazes me. Buy Stacey Rourke's book, fall in love with her witting which is totally deserving. This is a book basket one for sure!...
Please take a chance on this Author. I think you will be glad you did.

I got the book on Monday. Only had time to read 3 chapters that night. Finished it Tuesday. I've been raving about The Conduit and Embrace to anyone that will listen to me. I can't wait til November for the 3rd book. May have to stalk Stacey til she moves the date up!!!! (Just kidding -not really.)

Embrace is a terrific book! You will not regret this buy! It's action packed & magical yet funny & lighthearted...not to mention hard to put down! Many times I caught myself laughing at loud as I read & my kids would ask what was so funny. I love the way Rourke's mind works! Each time I thought I had it all figured out a new twist arose proving maybe I did not. Everything was laid out splendidly & it all just worked! Celeste, Gabe, Kendall, & Alaina are a great team, & I truly felt a family bond between them. I also just love Grams!! She cracked me up! Even the demons drew me in & had me wanting to know more about them. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in The Gryphon Series!! :)

Were do I begin with this book? it was filled with the our 3 lovley siblings (Gabe,Celeste,Keni) who are up against a whole nother kind of darkness...set to destroy the conduit.
At first your wondering were is Alec and then all is not what it seems. You met the Demonic Glee club, Rowan (the all too yummy pirate with the scottish acent), his roommate Caleb
(equally yummy).Granny is all for the dynamic trio but knows when to put her foot down, chapter after chapter you find that the background happenings are really what you should have
been paying attention to (i.e.her co-workers and the Glee Club)...At the end of this story you find that Alec is now important in the 3rd book...Over all the book delivered and as with all
great writters Stacey leaves you with the all to familar cliffhanger, making you want to shout at your kindle NO!!! and then you have to wait, but it is well worth the wait!
