Famed management consultant Tom Peters says the world is reinventing itself everyday. And you need to reinvent yourself with it. Today's great fortunes are being made by creative individualists who rise above the competition through the sheer power of their visions. This is a time to network, initiate projects, dream up new work, be creative and do! In Embracing Chaos, Tom Peters is at his most erudite and entertaining. The success stories he tells provide a treasure of new ideas and a model for how you'll face the difficulties ahead of you. You'll learn to: * Act as if you were fired long before the possibility arises. * Develop project teams at work that function like their own small businesses. * Invent your own future. * Carry more value at the end of each workday than you did at the start.

4.0 out of 5 stars A must for managers who want to 'do neat stuff', March 25, 2000
By
"seth_thong" (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) - See all my reviews
Tom Peters, arguably the world's all time best selling business author, lays down the ways managers can make 'chaos' work for them. First, remove the words 'career' out of your vocubulary. Instead of climbing the corporate ladder, he suggests that everyone strive to 'do neat stuff': start project teams and think horizontally rather than vertically.

He suggest that the structure at professional service firms like McKinsey & Co. and Arthur Andersen, will be how great companies will look like tomorrow.Watch out for the section in which he reveals how McKinsey & Co. deliver great value to their clients and earn obscene profits.

A good and entertaining read.
