5.0 out of 5 stars Finally....
...a wonderfully comprehensive book that tells you what to do with all the artwork your kids bring home from school and you know you'll do guilt over if you throw it away!! Creative projects that actually make nice things (well the two I've done so far) It also talks a lot about what art means to children which is a refreshingly different take on art than adults have...

2.0 out of 5 stars Editorial problem
There are two pieces of student artword on page 99 of the book. The people that are given credit are not the students art teacher in both pieces of art work. I am the art teacher at Pathfinder Elementary School and my name is Julie A. Smith. The two students are in my classroom. I did contact the editor and the author of the book. They have both apologized and will...

Art is not only important for its own sake but also for the creative development of a child. Children's creativity if not encouraged may be lost forever. Nurturing the creativity of your child is the greatest contribution you can make towards your child's future success. This book provides exciting ways to engage your child in the arts and crafts to promote their critical and divergent thinking. It will help you encourage your child to embrace not only her art but also lifelong creativity.

Barbara McGuire has presented this book in a very logical format. It is easy to read and interesting to read as well. The projects are easy to follow but not so simple that they are boring. Even better than that the finished artwork is so wonderful that they will be kept as treasured heirlooms for years to come.

I am looking forward to creating the decoupage furniture and image transfer lamp with the little ones in my life.

I highly recommend this book for all teachers, parents, child care providers, and anyone else who spends any significant amount of time with children.
